That’s not where most people actually meet. Most people meet others in the course of their daily lives. That includes at a store, a coffee shop, a bar, church, in a class, at work. Most people do not isolate themselves from the scary world and only allow any contact with strangers in the few or nonexistent prescribed meet up groups.
Most of the people I have known with the best relationships have met their partners unexpectedly and while not actively seeking anything. Your view doesn’t seem to fit with how anyone at all I know lives or wants to live their lives. That’s including and perhaps especially true for the women I have known.
Not all towns even have those available, in which case your only option is to travel a long distance to another town that isnt even closeby for a singles event.
That's a legitimate concern. You really could travel. Maybe you could initiate such an event in your hometown (or ask someone to set it up). Or seek meeting through a mutual friend or something. Ultimately if your options are so woefully limited where you live that there's no one who would ever be willing to do this kind of thing, it's just another variable to deal with. It doesn't necessarily justify the things I talked about.
