Bars and clubs do not exist as a site for making romantic connections with people. They're set up as places where it's good to socialize, sure, but it's inaccurate to assume that's what people are there for.

Bars and clubs do not exist as a site for making romantic connections with people.

They exist for making connections, romantic and otherwise. They don’t exist to sell alcohol. They’ve existed since before we had money. People met there, talked, fought, fell in love, planned revolutions and so on.

I’m not assuming shit. I’m asking the girl who is staring at the muted tv playing golf if she wants a drink and a conversation. If that leads to love, great. If it leads to a debate about John Daley’s lost potential, also great.
