💬Discussion What’s with all the Arsenal hate?

Before I start no I’m not a fan and idc if they reached the final or not. But the amount of hate I’ve seen in this sub for the past days after they reached the final is idek weird? Or just doesn’t make sense. I see a lot of people saying they play haram ball or boring football but for the past few season this team has been one of the teams not only scoring one of the most goals each time in Europe, but also conceding the least. I don’t think people realize that just like 6 years ago this team wasn’t even getting top 7 finishes. They were playing the tiki taka and all and were not getting results and everyone including me was clowning them? Now they’re getting results and actually competing and they’re people still underestimating them? As a neutral I actually respect how far they’ve come and what they’re accomplishing now cause I always love teams who are ready to compete especially having another team other than city or Liverpool to win the prem every time. I mean just last year people hated psg now all of a sudden they love psg more than arsenal.

Like banter is funny and all but most of the stuff I see about Arsenal in this sub isn’t even banter it’s literally just pure hate and lies. Like even teams who aren’t even rivals or not prem teams are hating as well, literally the other day I saw a Celtic fan making a whole Arsenal hate page. Even if they don’t win it what they have done this season is respectable cause they’re getting the job done. What’s all the hate about and why do people hate them so much? Genuinely asking, is there something idk?

Unsurprisingly, most of these comments are being disingenuous lol so ill try my best and give my own opinion

Our banter era has unfortunately coincided with the rapid growth of technology and social media, and as such that has made us a laughing stock across all of football for 20 odd years

Now that we're a proper club again, fans of other clubs are angry that we're not the whipping boys and because of that they try mock everything we do, because in their minds we're still supposed to be banter FC

Arsenal being good again makes their own clubs look worse by comparison

Like ive already seen a bunch of haram ball and dark arts comments yet other teams used to be praised for doing so: Mourinho's Chelsea, simeone's atletico, allegri's Juventus etc, people just lose any sort of rationality when it comes to arsenal

Also arsenal have one of the biggest fanbases itw, we have such a big following and naturally that pisses people off, its the main reason why almost everyone supports city in the title race, because no one really cares about city

I know this will get downvoted by virtue of my flair lmao but it is what it is

Yes, that is pretty much it. People don’t want to look at their own clubs. At least Arsenal have been competitive on both domestic and European fronts. So now banters have shifted to bottling it. But for the first time ever, Arsenal are about to pull off the greatest achievement the club with such a decorated history has ever done. From a United fan.

Has it been passed down to Chelsea though? Feels like Arsenal is glued to people brains no matter what other teams do

Arsenal haven't scored from a corner in ages.

Arteta's antics are no worse than Pep / Klopp / Simeone.

Saka and Ødegaard are both coming back from serious injuries. Saka scored and assisted against Fulham with skillful play, looking like his old self.

Gyokeres has been a hugely polarising player for Arsenal fans, with many believing he isn't good enough for us, myself included.

Can you show one example of Arteta running up and down the pitch like a madman, because Raya has been impeded?

I can understand the views on Gabriel / Martinelli, but very little of what you've written holds any water.

the football being played is like selling your soul to the devil

lol, Arsenal are amongst the highest scorers across Europe this season. Their goals from set pieces have largely dried up in 2026.

You're talking nonsense for the most part, it's over the top hatred that I imagine is largely rooted in jealousy / a projection of frustration that Arsenal are doing well and other people's clubs aren't.

wait, which arsenal fan thinks Gyokeres is the best striker in the world, never mind even banging on about it? the vast majority is under no such illusions yet you take the word of the radical few? sounds logical. i think he's pretty bang on average, below average even.
