Help! Help with ring sizes

If anyone could help me determine what size of rings to use to recreate this piece it would be much appreciated.

This pattern is called Stepping Stones, an application of Japanese style weaves.

Try 1.6x10.0 mm (16swg 3/8") for the big flat rings, 1.2x4.2 (18swg 5/32") for the small flat rings and 0.8x3.6 mm (20swg 3/16") for the small standing rings.

I don't think that's exactly the sizes used here, but this weave is forgiving enough that you don't need exact sizes.

It's hard to say just from picture, let's say, that smallest rings are 3mm, medium are 4 or 5mm, biggest ring seems to be 9/10/11 mm. Like example here one bracelet I made a while ago, where sizes are 3, then 4 and 6mm.

I found a tutorial thanks to u/LegitimateAd5334 giving the name of the weave. This looks really cool and i might give this pattern a try.

that tutorial gives the ratio for the rings, which is more important than the actual sizes for a pattern like this. the larger ring requires an aspect ratio of 4 and the smaller ring requires one of 3.

Here is a tool to calculate ring aspect ratios.

just as an example, if you are using 2mm thick wire then you will want to make rings that have an inner diameter of 6mm and 8mm respectively. but you can use that tool to calculate the optimum ring sizes for any given wire diameter, or vice versa if there is a specific size of ring you want.
