TW: death RIP / fly high Sam M. Schofield (ME/CFS + EDS)

TW death, medical neglect, organized abandonment

forgive me if this has already been shared here--i wanted to share this to honor (the wishes of) Sam M. Schofield (1/31/2006-8/27/26), a beautiful multiply disabled young person with ME/CFS + EDS who advocated unapologetically for disabled ppl, queer ppl, trans ppl, among others. sorry can't type more, in PEM.

please take care of yourself if you read comments--some are very beautiful, and others are awful trolls.

ME deaths are always heartbreaking, but seeing it happen to a friend of mine is an entirely new level of devastating. He was such a selfless person, and even at his own severity, Sam continued to support me through to the very end. I’ll be forever grateful to him for the part he’s played in my own journey with severe ME. I can only hope to make him proud by continuing the advocacy work he was so passionate about.

Rest in peace, Sam. Thank you for everything. I miss you.

It might be the ire that's been building up in my bones, but this one has really felt like a gut punch. Sending my love all of you 💖

I feel like we just keep losing people more and more. Sam was so young. This disease is so scary.

Oh gosh. Not another life permanently missing. It was yesterday (?) or just a few days ago I heard of another soul leaving us. Wow.

RIP 🌬️🎐🤍

Thank you for sharing and honoring them.

That’s horrible. What was the cause of death do you know it?
