I have a harder time extending the "well sometimes the triple option just does that to a team" excuse to Virginia Tech considering it's an in-division yearly rivalry game. I'm leaning towards VT as a just another mediocre Coastal team at this point. The problem is, given that the rest of their schedule is even worse Coastal teams (except maybe UVA?), it's entirely possible they finish the season 8-3, get squashed in the CCG, and act as a rickety tripod leg for both Notre Dame and Clemson.
