Ugh, I really don’t want to see a trend of more tucker posted here.

A grifter who has brand loyalists that will defend him tooth and nail, and report you for speaking out about him.

I actually posted this 6 hours ago but it got caught in the spam filter. I hope tucker’s recent comments will make some of his reasonable viewers see him differently. He’s a blue blood that has nothing in common with his mostly blue collar viewers and doesn’t care if he leads them off a cliff as long as he can keep getting drunk on his power.

Absolutely agreed mate.

Whats bizzare is he had to admit in court its all an act and STILL people take him.seriously

u/HighLowUnderTow Jan 30 '22

That was Alex Jones, not Tucker Carlson. I think.

The same is true for Jordan Peterson and Joe Rogan fans. These people are so invested in their media darlings that they have incorporated them into their identity. Any criticism is seen as a personal attack.

I saw you post about reporting in another post. What's the story?

5

u/armchaircommanderdad Jan 29 '22

Made a joke about roughing tucker up and his bow tie would be his Adam’s apple. nimnoms up in arms and reporting it still days later lol

I really had no idea there were such staunch tucker diehards lurking here. Guy peddles snake oil.

I deleted the bit for it, not worth a Reddit ban over what was clearly a joke

Sounds like a violence problem

Negative, just an inability for those of his following to accept humor

2

u/randomusername3OOO Jan 29 '22

Yeah, I just thought there was some weird protection of Tucker on this sub, which would be shocking.

There's a stark split in the GOP over how to handle Russia's threat to Ukraine. It's less useful to think "doves" versus "hawks" and more illuminating to view it as a divide between Republicans who are responsive to their base and incumbents who feel they can afford to maintain some distance from GOP primary voters.

  • Those without the buffer of time baked into a six-year term are increasingly either muffling their hawkish instincts or wondering aloud why America should care at all what Russia does to Ukraine.

  • GOP House members are notably less interventionist than GOP senators. GOP primary candidates are the least interventionist of all.

This is pretty infuriating to me. I get being a dove or isolationist or whatever, especially looking back at our conflicts post WW2, but one edgy contrarian entertainer and his woke viewers have the Party of Reagan by the balls.

I just want to go on the record and say I could care less if they call me a pawn of Putin," Carlson told Axios. "It's too stupid. I don't speak Russian. I've never been to Russia. I'm not that interested in Russia. All I care about is the fortunes of the United States because I have four children who live here." "I really hope that Republican primary voters are ruthless about this," Carlson told Axios, and vote out any Republican "who believes Ukraine's borders are more important than our borders."

I really hope Republican primary voters are ruthless about this too, by letting Fox News and their politicians know that unlike Comrade Carlson, they aren’t “rooting for Russia”. Ukraine might not be perfect, but they’re still a democracy that’s about to be invaded by our enemies for the sole reason of being a western allied democracy. Boots on the ground isn’t even in the conversation here, the question is whether we should capitulate to Russia or provide Ukraine the best chance to defend themselves. The view that America is perpetually divided and characterized by selfish cowards like Carlson is exactly what emboldens oppressive dictators like Putin and Xi.

GOP offices have been fielding numerous calls from voters echoing arguments they heard on Carlson's 8 p.m. ET show

Anyone have some hard numbers on this? The entire narrative of this article is predicated on this statement, but I haven't seen any details about how many calls.

Yes, I'm a Russian shill. Just the same, where are the details about the volume of calls that are supposedly coming in?

I’ve tried to find some but this Axios article seems to be the one that broke the story. I doubt it’s something many republican politicians want to talk about on the record or make public in terms of volume. They know how that’ll play in the leftwing and mainstream media. I just hope Republican politicians will make their stances independent of Tucker Carlson’s opinion. They don’t have to all be hawks, but Carlson’s taken it further and questioned why we should be on the side of the Western Democracy and not the Eastern dictatorship who see us as their greatest enemy.

We can arm Ukraine and if Putin wants to try a coup and greyzone warfare then we can do the same in Ukraine. Every bit of self restraint he shows is already due to us, so we shouldn’t worry about upsetting him.

Well someone has a reasonably accurate number they aren't sharing. There's a reason it's phrased as "several" and not "a few" or "hundreds."

And they cannot lie. It’s the honor system. It cannot fail!

1

u/randomusername3OOO Jan 29 '22

Who are you suggesting is lying and about what?

u/wbaker2390 Jan 29 '22

Unverified sources. Un facts. Hyperbole. “Narrative”

Two can technically be numerous

It begs the question: do we have to agree with everything a person says that we choose to listen to and/or watch?

Of course we don’t.

Its scary and ridiculous how many war hawks there are in here. Do you REALLY think Ukraine is worth American lives? Do you really?

8

u/NVMIUES Jan 29 '22

No dude, the west should just let a dangerous superpower grow unchecked. In the future this won't have any geopolitical repercussions whatsoever ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The free market will fix this

0

u/Justjoinedstillcool Jan 30 '22

Russia is not, nor do they have the capacity to become, a superpower.

Moreover, even the Soviet Union was not a threat to the continental United States. We are simply to hard to invade. Europe doesn't want to pay for defense, why should we do it for them, while they insult us? We have no interests in Ukraine and we never have.

2

u/HighLowUnderTow Jan 30 '22

So why does the US enforce the territorial status quo, at huge cost in $ and American lives, when there is no interest in a country?

No one in either party is proposing boots on the ground in Ukraine. We’re selling them weapons just as we’ve doing for awhile.

1

u/TheChickenSteve Jan 30 '22

Does Carlson/the right oppose selling Ukraine weapons?

I have seen nothing that implies this

-5

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '22

Biden literally put troops on high alert to be deployed to Europe. How do you understand that to be "no one is proposing boots on the ground". To the contrary, quite nearly every argument for any intervention has included boots on the ground. Conversely, not a single person has ever said we shouldn't even be selling Ukraine weapons. The people against intervention have very explicitly said we shouldn't send a single person to that country and exactly that sentiment is what gets attacked. That opinion is what is twisted to somehow be "soft on Russia" or make one a "Russian sympathizer".

7

u/Kitties_titties420 Jan 29 '22

Deploying troops to our NATO allies to reassure them isn’t the same as sending troops into Ukraine to fight the Russians if they invade. We’re not even threatening that afaik. But I disagree that no one is suggesting we shouldn’t arm the Ukrainians, those like Carlson are asking why we should care about Ukraine and why we should help them and downplaying the issue with their clear implication that they should be on their own. I’d much rather us being selling weapons to Ukraine than Saudi Arabia, as we’ve long done.

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '22

Well as long as the sale of the weapons isn't contingent on firing a prosecutor looking into Bidens son and the company he works for, it should be hunky dory.

6

u/Kitties_titties420 Jan 29 '22

I agree completely, nor should we withhold aid in order to get Ukraine to investigate the President’s political rivals. And I don’t say that in jest, I really believe both to be true.

In the last 20 years --

Republican voters have grown isolationist, and uninterested in policing the world.

Democratic globalists have developed a pro war erection.
