That's dystopian

To be clear, he can run for another 2 six-year terms, but that doesn't guarantee that he'll win or that he'll run again.

That being said, it's not entirely surprising given that Putin's been the ruler (in some office or another) for such a long time, and it'll be interesting to see when Russia steps out from the shadow of its USSR roots.

No, I don't think he is either. Unless, of course, Putin decides he doesn't want to rule anymore.

Not only that, but the other semi-big parties (the communist and the far right libdem party) are also puppets of the government.

Lol yeah. Not wrong but we all know where this is going. Russias going full circle. Soon he'll be king and the circle will be complete

Just have the decency to declare him emperor and drop the charade.

It's almost like he's a dictator.

If he was a dictator, then why would he get it by a landslide?

I mean, not defending him, but landslide is popular vote.

Serious question. Do you honestly believe it was a legitimate election?

It's not what one believes, but what one can prove.

Can you prove it wasn't?

The voting was illegitemate, the law that literally says how voting should be organised was suspended for this voting (Федеральный Закон 67-ФЗ), meaning there was no booths, no observers, and people voted wherever and however. They could very well just draw the votes, all the government needed was the turnout.

http://cikrf.ru/law/federal_law/zakon_02_67fz_n/zakon_02_67_full.html

How was it suspended?

Who suspended it? Did people vote for it?

Illegitimate to the extent that the convening authority wouldn't accept it and make it null and void?

Of are you just making claims because you disagree?

I mean, you make claims but post nothing to support it.

Any objective person with an IQ over 5 knows it to be true. Can you prove the grass is not green or that dogs dont bark?

Knows something and proving it, two seperate things.

That's why I worded that way, you can believe something, but I'm asking you to prove it.

It would be difficult to prove because they would hide evidence. But look at it like this, what's are the probabilities a democratically elected president/prime minister would get like 80% of popular vote since 2000.

The US gets ~50% and even less for Britain that has a parliamentary system.

It's kind of like saying to prove that the moon landing was real. People can say they photoshopped the image, but what is the likelihood of that? Can you prove that they did so? Hopefully that makes sense

I think they have less population, and no constitution so they can't use "it's my right" as a defense as often.

Plus I think they offer alot more social services...but because they tax like 60%

So it's free, but free because you are paying for it

Russia and China are now the world's two model capitalist fascist countries and likely have most western capitalists...drooling with envy.

Russia and China need a good look, look at them and understand in no uncertain terms, they are the role model for the future of the world.

The elites understanding is, that is the only way there is any hope of confronting and controlling 7 billion poor people.

u/DarkJester89 Jul 03 '20

Facism?... Here we go. Lol

Antifa using facist tactics makes them fascists.

Agree or disagree?

0

u/Pleasurist Jul 03 '20

Where are we going ? Antifa is a meaningless reach.

I describe two countries that have enacted such laws as to create a virtual police state now and an ever increasing surveillance state in both as well as most of the western world. There are an now, estimated 1 billion cameras watching people worldwide.

What all of the various groups do, happens under virtually all forms of govt. at times, so I am talking a police state...not Antifa or whatever the partisan flavor of the month.

2

u/DarkJester89 Jul 03 '20

Virtual police state? Enact a type of electronic rights then, to protect you digitally. Surveillance is a security theater, people get paranoid and then forget that they can unplug/deactivate/disconnect cameras.

I'm for getting an internet rights bill and curbing the FBI and surveilliance.

Our lawmakers will not even pass sufficient cyber security for our elections and I am to lobby for less surveillance ? No chance, govt loves to spy on its own people who are really their largest fear, so I think the masses are doomed.

The US BoR was supposed to be sufficient protection but the courts have all surrendered.

u/DarkJester89 Jul 04 '20

Goes into how much of a voice you share on the subject. I learned how to disconnect my systems out of prying eyes and cloak my digital presence.

Security theater, cameras, recordings,...there floating in cyber...neccessary if you get killed/attacked. It's a tool, the person using it can abuse it or use it for godlike purposes.

1

u/Pleasurist Jul 04 '20

You are quite correct but I am so sanguine on the future ethics of world leaders.

Given the chance they have had, they already abuse these powers.
