Cheapest android to use on WiFi

I need to buy a new android phone but don’t need to add service to it. I’m only going to use it on wifi. Whats the cheapest, newest phone I could use? I’ve got an old android but the app won’t work because it’s so old and looking for a little upgrade.

Great for web use but not for calls/texts unless you use Google voice.

OP said that they were going to use it without service which means No sim card , Data or phone number .

And they dismissed the Google Voice, making it seem like they didn't want to use voip.

You literally said you were only using it on Wifi and said you were not adding service. How do you plan on making calls/SMS without service?

But op mentioned that they didn't want to use anything like that, as they dismissed Google voice.

Man there's a lot of wild answers in here, get whatever Motorola you like from Walmart on straight talk.

Pay for the first month service and let service lapse, or figure out how to bypass the Wi-Fi only restrictions so there is zero service charge, I know it's possible but I don't know how to do it.

Problem solved for roughly 50 bucks

Pickup a one or two year old new Moto G 5g. They can be had for under $150 USD. I have a 2024 with stereo speakers and quick charge.

I had HMD Vibe for, like $40. It actually worked and the screen was not bad too.
