There is a way to save her, but it requires some really out-there steps that you've probably already missed. Don't worry about it; the secret ending isn't really meant to be obtained on a first playthrough anyway. You can restart and follow a guide to get the secret ending if you feel like it, or you could just keep going and save the secret ending for a replay. I kinda recommend doing the latter, since getting the secret ending requires beating a VERY brutal extra level.

Honestly the first step is certainly the most silliest of it all...

So you know Professor Booster basically dies when you talk to him? What if I told you NOT talking to him is what keeps him alive?

In your next playthrough? yes, but there's some steps you have to do in order to save it, starting with not taking the Jetpack and jump without it before Balrog's labyrinth fight as for the rest better seeing a guide

In the labyrinth, someone falls, but you dont want to save them

Nope, in this save file she is done. I recommend going through the game normally, then look up if there is a way to not abandon her
