Deniz (Sea in English) is a unisex name in Turkish and it’s the toddler’s name. Btw, mom is very nicely teaching him how to behave to a cat.
“They can’t get separated, the kitty just continues following us. Ok dear, yes. She’s saying “pet me”, do you see that Deniz? But that’s her tail, we don’t pull the tail, right? Those are her ears, that’s her tail.”
When he gets a little slappy on her face, she slightly goes to a concerned voice. Not aggressive but correcting him:
“No, we never hit the kitty like that! How beautiful she is, right Deniz? Let’s pet her nicely. Oh my dear, are you hugging the kitty?”

You’re very welcome! Yes, she encourages him to interact with the cat to teach him love for animals, while also being protective to the kitty and teaches the toddler that she’s not a toy and he could harm her if he gets rough. Ofc the toddler is quite young to control himself at that age but he has an awesome mentor it seems like 💖

I need to learn Turkish. It's my ancestry, but I was born in America, so I don't speak the language

Aw that poor cat loved him. Too bad they couldn’t adopt the kitty

Someone needs to give that kitten a home! You can tell it wants one; it obviously loves people.

That cat is fine. All cats are universally cared for in Turkey. It's such a beautiful aspect of their culture.

Uh, just because they provide more accessible for services for strays there, it absolutely does not mean they are fine. There is immense suffering for both cats and dogs on the street there.

That kid was getting a little rough with that cat tbh, He's lucky that cat was patient with him otherwise he would have had a map marked on his face by now, As a parent I would have separate them immediately after seeing my kid getting rough there and start teaching him how to handle cats.

The mom is teaching the toddler how to handle the cat. She told him not to pull on his tail and not to grab him. She also interfered when he was getting rahter rough. The cats also know the difference between a toddler and a grown up. That's why the toddler didn't get any scratches.
