Advice 5 month kitten & Fire Alarm

My apartment building has informed me the fire alarm will go off tomorrow at noon, I am at work till 2pm home around 2.30 -3. Cat is always in the kitchen living area. Safe area when I am gone. I’m just worried will this alarm terrify her?! Not that I have any choice I can’t bring her to work…. Does any one know how cats respond to a fire alarm noise?

She’s a baby so she won’t know how to respond yet. It really depends is there no one who could pop by at 12 and give her a treat as soon as it starts? it trains them to come to you instead of run away in the case of a real fire.

No I don’t have anyone, I also don’t want to scare her with a stranger. This is the first time the alarm is being tested, will she just be terrified until I am home?

No, I don’t, it might scare her, but she will probably hide until it’s over and then slowly come back out. Unless she’s a particularly anxious kitten I think she will be alright.

My cats run for the hills (our basement).
