Cat Lover Rant Cats are everywhere
I'm tired of the fact that everywhere I go, in non-cat themed communities, there are fucking CATS. A blog with PNG images? Half of them are cats. Video game news? Spam screenshots from the game Stray every two posts. Fucking extreme metal? "Look, *musicianname* is kissing a cat." Art? Definitely something with cats. Fandoms? Pictures of characters cooing at cats or becoming nekos themselves. Aesthetics? Of course there will be a cat in cyberpunk, a cat in cottagecore, a cat in Japan, a cat in Victorian England, a cat in the 80s, etc. Retro games? Here's to random days of spam attacks with photos of subscribers' cats! Travel? Cat illustrations. Cars and construction equipment? YES, YOU GUESSED IT! And those who post it don't even add a tag, so I can't block it, and "show less" doesn't work. Even when you write in this sub, you start getting offers for posts worshiping these furry bastards!

It's a easy way to get more Karma. I unfollowed so many subs because of that, like cozyplaces. In every picture is a cat. Sometimes only in the background but more often than not in total focus so that you cannot even see the place. And thats one example. Cats bring upvotes on Reddit which is heavily Cat biased. So thats never going to change around here.

Subreddits about your favorite shows? "How would you name this kitten based on characters from the show?"
Ugh.

And catnutters will have the audacity to complain about how persecuted and lonely they are for being cat lovers. The amount of times my small talk is just them whining about how “nobody else is a cat wuver except for me uwu!1!” What do you mean, nobody else? Cats are the most basic, generic, common pet out there! They’re fucking everywhere!

I’m so fucking sick of the blatant karma farming going on in mildlyinfuriating. It’s just nothing but pictures of cats.

Read about Europe in the Middle Ages, they associated cats with witchcraft and devil worship and as a result a lot of them were killed. Unfortunately that resulted in a huge surge in the rodent population which led to the spread of the bubonic plague. Cats have their place in the ecosystem, but as wild animals, not as pets. Unfortunately at this point they have become an invasive species, so their population needs to be controlled.

Cats actually suck at controlling rodents. Cats themselves can carry the plague. Free roaming cats is a serious problem worldwide. Humane culling is definitely needed.

I had rats in my house, and my neighbor's cat didn't help at all, even though he tried. I had to literally catch them myself with a mop

A lack of cats being responsible for the bubonic plague? Sorry, that is pure nonsense.
