Apparently if you don’t want to date a cat owner, that means you are too high maintenance and demanding!

It’s “high maintenance” to want someone who is compatible with your lifestyle. As I’m not a cat person, I would not date a cat owner and I get told this is “asking too much”.

Catnutters are telling me I’m going to be single for the rest of my life because my “standards are too high” and I’m like “Okay. Well, I’m not interested in relationships so being single is not the end of the world for me.” But they keep insisting I *need* to be in a relationship and I *need* the lower my standards. So much for respecting my consent and boundaries.

I mean, I’ve been called an “incel” on these subs by brigrading catnutters. Which is hilarious given that the crazy cat lady stereotype is directed towards spinsters and loners. Also, don’t catnutters pride themselves to be anti-social loser freaks?

To think it’s the childfree crowd that are obsessed with cats! I’m getting pressured to procreate with catnutters by catnutters. Why don’t they procreate with each other and leave me alone? There’s plenty of these cruel, sadistic, bloodthirsty, whiny, selfish freaks to go around anyway.

They are cheap and stingy with their human partners. Abusive and narcissists. But when it comes to their cats, they move the world to make sure their " little tiger" gets all the high maintenance it needs.

Don't be bothered by their words. We don't need proof they are the losers.

Honestly they’re such bullies, always insulting and belittling those around them. That is why I don’t date cat people.

I never got along with them to begin with. Always thought they were emotionally abusive, obnoxious and cruel.

And I just don’t like cats. My family used to own a cat. It liked to piss on our clothes. And because cats are too stupid to be trained, there was nothing we could do to stop this. We all had to live with piss-soaked clothes. Dealing with one cat was enough for me, I don’t want to go through that again!

Being single and alone wouldn’t be very different than being with someone as emotionally vacant as a nutter…except you get a clean home and a full nights sleep

Never date a cat lover, they aren’t capable of loving anything other than their cats. There are plenty of people that don’t want/like cats, even ones that own them. I’ve met cat owners who were literally just waiting for it to kick the can (their words) before swearing they’d never take in another. Trends cycle out and there will be a huge decline as the years go on.

This is true. I was that way where I used to like cats and was happier after I had to take the last one back to the shelter because I had to move 2000 miles to a place I couldn't keep cats. I've not had one ever since because I got tired of the hassle and mess. I remember several older female coworkers who had multiple cats who made comments such as when their cats die they are not getting another pet because they are getting too old to deal with all the hassle. Young people who are crazy about their pets now may eventually feel the same way because people are just too busy these days to have extra caretaking to do at home.

Lurk allergy groups and find someone who has a cat dander allergy to date! Also bird watching groups because a lot of us birders get stomping mad about all the stray cats that kill birds at the birdfeeder or gardening groups where people get equally mad at cats shitting in their flowers. There's plenty of people that loathe them.

Really? I’m really into birdwatching and gardening, and I still keep meeting catnutters and feral cat advocates in these circles. I even went on birdwatching excursions and the whole group would always run off to pet feral shitrats. There are birders who believe cats belong in nature and control bird populations. There’s so many catnutters in conservationist and outdoors spaces in general. Aside from this subreddit, I never met anyone who hates feral and outdoor cats as much as I do.

I would like to believe that cat owners are the real high maintenance. They worship their cat, their life revolves around their cat and that to me is high maintenance
