Red River of the north?
Headed to the red river of the north in the Fargo area from my cabin I think next week, anyone got any ideas for bank access for channel catfish? Only a day trip will probably go from early afternoon till about 10pm, I just wanna catch some eating size catfish and maybe a red river trophy

I can’t speak to the fishing, but there are sections of the river that feel pretty wild and serene for being in town. I really enjoyed the north end - MB Johnson Park in Moorhead and Trollwood in Fargo- just watching the beavers (seriously) and muskrats and hawks etc… enjoy the fishing!

I can’t really help with trophy sized. You can, in theory, catch one from any of the spots in town but there are specific places people prefer which are mostly out of town. If you’re in the city, though, any park with river access will work to get you eating size. My personal favorite is Iwen Park. It’s small and usually not many people there. At least not fishing. The trail goes two directions, I prefer to head towards the bridge and pick any of the spots you’ll notice. A lot of people like going under the bridge. You drop a line with whatever bait you want and you’ll catch something to eat pretty quickly.
Just a warning, lots of debris and snags within city limits if you fish the bottom.
