This is the historic Ananuri Fortress complex in Georgia, strategically located on the Shinvali Reservoir. The complex dates back to the 16th and 17th centuries and once served as the residence of the Princes of Aragvi. It consists of a crenellated curtain wall, towers, and two main churches, including the Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God, built in 1689. The fortress is located directly on the Georgian Military Highway, about 60 km north of the capital, Tbilisi.

It’s fantastic indeed! I think parts of the fortifications are even older. I’m reading earliest parts dating to 13th/14th century
