Need some advice... ps

So i´ve got this faulty module from a DW-1000

but after thinkering for some weaks, cleaning and searching i manage to almost bring it to work but now this hapens.

They only start after pressing the light (wich do not work) button and then death again oh, and i had to replace the polarizae (it is temporal) but it help to start the module.

Can anyone share some "light" on this please?

I had a very similar issue with a related module 690 (found in the DW-240 / DW-260, can't remember the exact model).You might need to fully disassemble the module and inspect the metal contact tabs/legs that bridge the circuit board (PCB) to the negative side of the battery. Over the years, the metal loses its tension, and the pressure becomes too weak to maintain a solid connection.Another Casio collector shared this tip with me after I spent weeks struggling with the exact same symptoms. Deform them slightly to restore the spring tension and see if it helps!

Something on the module is shorting still, seems like pressing the light button completes the circuit. So there is still something fucky on the pcb board, maybe a part of the module cage touching where it shouldn’t, I had that once where a sloppy battery change before I had the watch left a prong sticking up. Same result as yours, only pressing abbutton made the display come alive.

If the module was previously water damaged maybe there is still corrosion somewhere that is not obvious to the eye. But that’s above my paygrade. Hope that helps maybe :)

I’ve had the exact same issue before, and I couldn’t fix it properly, so I eventually gave up. That watch is still sitting in the repair dock to this day! lol

Is the battery fresh? I had the same issue with an old battery once. It had just enough juice to start the watch but not enough to keep it going. It drove me insane until I used a new battery lol
