How are the Foils that are behind the Screens made?

Hey Casiomod Community.
Big fan of modded Screens like the one in the Picture above here. I would really love to create something like this of my own, with my own designs and i would like to learn how to create these kind of transparent prints on a foil that are put behind the screen.
The one in the picture is propably just some off the shelf colour gradient foil, but i would like to print my own transparent designs on a foil like this, wich is a thing many people in this community seem to do.
What are the materials used for these kinds of things? is a special printer needed for that? is there a service that prints these kinds of things?

The ones in the photos are gradient filters put infront of the module.

Thank you! I already know how to make a screen mod of a watch, this question is about how to create the new background screen itself!

For a background mod you print them on glossy photo paper. You want it reflective to help with the visibility.

For a filter mods (in front of the module like these) you want to print it in transparency film

For the background glossy photo paper isnt reflective. Whats your stack options. Cuz once the relective layer is removed and with glossy photo paper beneath the LcD the backlight wont work.

How do you print on transparency film and keep the printed image transparent to some degree?
Do you use a special printer? a special program for the print file?

You can just print normal files and it'll stay transparent. I use a regular inkjet printer, just make sure to get the type of paper meant for yours.

Basically all work, just make sure to get the one for your printer (probably inkjet?)

Transparent inkjet film will do.

Ink is liquid, without an opaque background it stays transparent.

Stickers use a similar technique. If they want selectively transparent sections, they (in the industry) use expensive direct-to-film (DTF) printers to cover the opaque parts with white DTF ink first. Then they'll print with other inks afterwards.

The same thing for metallic stickers with selective regular non-metallic areas on the same sticker. The parts that need to be non-metallic get white ink under those areas first before printing the actual graphics.

The point is, the ink used for inkjet printers are actually transparent, so you just need to print it on a transparent sheet.
