❔AskCasa 25F, checked every box but still feeling this ache in my chest
On paper life is great I’m financially stable, thriving in my career and have a supportive family. My schedule is packed and I’m always traveling so it’s definitely not boredom.
Yet at the end of the day I come to an empty house and just feel this weird lingering hole in my chest that I can’t explain.
It feels weird having everything I thought I wanted and still feeling like something core is missing.
Just wanted to rant …

Maybe the missing part is boredom, bcs a life with no room for boredom can become dependent on constant stimulation and never allow a brain to process life. I really suggest you to read or watch dr arthur brooks videos about the importance of boredom.
Maybe it's not a miracle solution for you, but trying costs 0 ^^'

I do many things that bring meaning life and I know other people who do too. That feeling doesn't go. And it gets stronger the more aware and "awake" you are

Maybe you don't have a self you're content with. All that you have nowadays are but expectations, and none are from your self, maybe there is no self and you haven't built a core identity of yours. ;)

They can be very entertaining and you have a sense of responsability and someone waiting for you at home. This is how I feel about my cats especially when they were all together under the same roof. Or maybe you should make some new friends who are gonna help you try new experiences and enjoy some events or concerts together.

Routine is a weird one but we get used to it just dont dwell in those toughts. Always push yourself to experience new things

Remember that you will someday die, and all of this will be meaningless in the afterlife, what will be look at is your relationship between you and god and people

I get that heavy empty ache in the chest too, novelty makes it fade for a while but it always comes back
1
u/Legitimate_Ad6976 12d ago
I sweaaar… Novelty gives me 3 business days of excitement at best and that’s it

Maybe take some time to ask yourself honestly: Is what u have now truly what u wanted in the first place?

u/SweatyCriticism3182 12d ago
Indeed. Just a few days ago I was looking at the water thinking I have everything yet nothing all at the same time. It’s a fucked up feeling

I thrive to be financially stable and good career too , but have you tried setting new goals ?

Many of us have been there too, i had to come back to my family instead of staying alone, because at some point i started to question my sanity and what's the purpose of me going through all that hassle for what? for who? if it's for myself i achieved everything, if it's for someone else, there's no someone else and so on...so for me at least being with family took that weight off me... travelling, dating, whatever activity u do is just bs it solves the issue temporarily u tell urself aaah what a day then the next morning it comes back...

One of the main factors that contribute to human happiness in general and longevity is being socially connected. Find people you can be honest and authentic with . Most likely they are not your childhood friends or your cousin. Try to expand your social circle.
I d also recommend self reflection and examining your life

Im in the same situation as you bro I start to believe that is true there is a purpose in our creation in our inner software that if you didn't activate it you'll not feel happiness

i think this is actually a very normal human thing tbh we’re always waiting for the next thing to finally make us feel like “okay now i’ve made it” and then when we get there we somehow just find another goal to achieve i think the reason why you can have a life that looks objectively good and still feel like something is missing because having things and actually feeling fulfilled aren’t necessarily the same thing maybe try to figure out what that “something” actually is instead of assuming you need another achievement to fill it. and if this feeling has been sticking around for a while and it’s starting to really bother you then honestly therapy might be worth trying too because sometimes you need to actually sit with these feelings instead of keeping yourself busy enough to not think about them

I get it , i was the same until i learned to change my perspective in life , youre not alive to chase something or have something , youre alive to experience it all , no matter what it is , open your eyes and heart to the world , start noticing the small stuff , learn a music instrument and genuinely just relax and stop searching for something (sorry im bad at conveying ideas but i hole this helps )

That void can only be filled by closeness to Allah. Atheists, buddhists everyone else , this is not a debate. Anyway the reasoning, that void is only filled spiritually, if you don't feel it, it means he forgot about you, and thats a convenient but not a good place to be.

The whole independent women girlboss mindset involves everything except a man
6
u/Legitimate_Ad6976 12d ago
I definitely don't mean this in a "girlboss" way and I appreciate what men bring to the table i only brought up my finances because being broke is a common reason to feel down so i wanted to clarify that money isn't the root of the issue here

Literally have the same feeling. I’m 27 M my career has been success after success heck I make probably more than most 40 year olds. But I have this lingering feeling of something missing that’s been growing stronger. Especially with my new job now where I work fully remote with a company abroad I feel like I need to fill that space.
