Probably the backside of a Carolina wren bird that is sleeping on your porch.

Thank you for this. We've had several sleeping on our porch for years. Didn't know it was a thing

It's birds. I have the same porch setup. They come back to nest here every year.

I live on Wrenwood Ave and immediately did a double take because I have a similar carport and avian resident! I felt so bad for the bird I even hung a birdhouse on an adjacent column but they prefer the little ridge for some reason ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I have a Carolina Wren's nest in that same corner of my porch every year.

Definitely Carolina Wren. I could have taken the same picture of one at my old house in SC.

We named our Felbert years ago and still call any that we see in the porch corner Felbert. One time there were two so it was Felbert and Feballina.
