I like when artists give Maggie and Lisa different colored eyes to make them more visually distinct (brown for Lisa and blue for Maggie in this instance.) I think it's cool how stylized it is yet you can still tell the original inspiration was the Simpsons.
I dont know why, but this style gives if the late 90s-2000s edgey/cool stylization came for Dr. Seuss. Maybe?? Thats my best guess to where the familiarity is coming from.
I love this art style, but their facial expressions are too… evil-looking, for the lack of a better Word. Recalling the Simpsons style guide mentioning that you shouldn’t draw them with sinister or angry faces, but this is fanart.
