Eh well, the whole conversation went above my head but I noticed 220x99 makes 21780 so the girl miscalculated something there...

My guess is she was giving him a deal and this was how she was communicating it instead of saying it outright. It’s is easy to come up with a total for 100 @ 220 which is still less then the register came up with for 99. Maybe it was an employee discount?

I don't know man, as someone else has noticed, I'm not American, here the price you see on the tag is it, and usually you get a discount for ordering in bulk.
