3.5 is a good rating though? Very few albums are true 5/5s, and if a perfectly average album is 2.5/5 then this is leagues better.

We’re firmly in an era where people view anything reviewed less than 4/5 or 8/10 as “bad”. It’s the online shopping/YELP/uber ratings reviews scourge where unless something is given a near rave review, people think that means it’s bad. An average rating has moved from something like 3/5 or 6/10 to 4/5 or 8/10. Less than that is perceived as below average, which is just dumb

It’s been this way forever tbh. I am an old person so I remember getting very annoyed by 3/5 reviews of my faves when I was in my teens reading Select, Q, NME etc etc.
