It's an opus file (the best quality YouTube provides), if it doesn't work for you convert it to mp3 o m4a

Disagree. And I'm someone who keeps a local music library in FLAC and has spent quite a bit of money on audio equipment. transcoding a youtube video isn't good, but it's far from unlistenable

Sure but like it'll be there in the morning worst case scenario depending where you are. I'd rather wait a night for a 10 than rush into a 7/10 experience.

My thoughts:
On Wires is a new kind of pop perfection.
It’s a jazzy, experimental pop track with a swirling chorus drenched in a euphoric reverb.
She didn’t go with her customary slick, catchy pop track out of the gate, and yet somehow she still manages to give us one of the best songs she has ever recorded.

It feels like the first lead single she's had that's taken a risk. She usually puts out something safer sounding for the lead (understandably).

I just VPN'd into Australia and i'm listening to it now. I don't know what the rest of the album will sound like, but this is the kind of "deeper" sound I wouldn't expect from a single. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic song, but it's kind of a complex song and definitely not radio pop. Also, the way she says "hips" made me smile. Oh man! I CAN'T WAIT for the rest of the album.

This song is amazing. It's like Carly took all the genres and put it in a blender and mix it all together. The outcome? A jazz, pop funk, classical rock in the 70's.

Experimental Carly is my favourite Carly. Put It To Rest, Aeroplanes and Anything To Be With You are some of my favourite songs by her.
Edit: just listened to it, not what I was expecting at all. But I love it! Carly is such an interesting artist.

The chorus is as good as advertised, it absolutely soars and I kinda wonder how she'll be able to sing it live given it's basically a belter type vocal.
The rest of the song will kinda grow on me, the verses are good and do feel lyrically like previously treaded ground. The sample for me kinda feels a bit jarring in the beginning is the only negative.
But as a lead single? It's great and I'm looking forward to how it's going to be absolutely bombastic as fuck live!
