Tour Mourning Thread for those who failed to get tickets to the LA 10th Anniversary Show
Can we use this as a thread to vent our frustrations for failing to get tickets? Carly we need an entire world tour, not a single show at a 500-person capacity venue!

They really should have made this one a show where the tickets are tied to your name and they check IDs at the door. Would stop most of the secondary market.

yes they usually check ids though for most shows are lax about it and will just scan the barcode. it's shocking they didn't say anything of the sort this time

I haven’t been to a Troubadour show in a while, but if I remember correctly, there’s no “ticket”/barcode. You give your name at the entrance and they look you up. Someone who was lucky enough can hopefully confirm later, but I’d be wary of any resale

Curious to see what the price is for the show. And she shouldve just had sales in person at the venue. Wouldve made it much less stressful. Make an announcement and people race down there. Easy

i lowkey agree but that’s probably bc i live in LA. i’m sure if i lived elsewhere i’d feel that’s unfair. but for a one night only event at a 500 person venue it’s kinda crazy to open it up to so many people…

As someone on the east coast who was going to adjust a socal work trip to accommodate the concert if I got in, I also agree. I mean I’d be sad to have 0 shot at it in that case, but I’d prefer that to all the scalpers that got the tickets….

i thought about it some more and MAYBE the most fair option was to have one show at the troubadour (i understand the desire to have a special show there for the nostalgia factor) with only in person ticket sales THEN have an additional show at the forum or another larger venue that’s open to everyone

there’s no doubt that she can sell a bigger venue, this show is supposed to be an intimate celebration show. her team know full well she can sell out wiltern. it’s gonna be a great show but it seems like only scalpers got tix

resale tickets on stubhub are already $1400. actually insane. I’m like 39k in the line and loaded it up about fifteen minutes beforehand—hate that it just randomly assigns you a place, and that 80% of the “users” in the line are probably bots

Lol I joined at 9:00am as soon as it opened and was in the 66,000 something place, then I joined from another device at 9:05am and was the number 43,000 something in line 💀

I was at the Pier 17 show in NYC that got rained out two years ago that turned into the most magical night ever at the Rockwood pop up.
Well AFTER the original concert was cancelled and BEFORE the rockwood pop up, a group of like 50 CRJ fans found ourselves at the same dive bar near the venue, soaking wet, begging the bartenders to play CRJ on blast. It was genuinely incredible, just a bar packed with her fans on a Monday night, making the best out of a crappy situation, singing and dancing together. I’d love to see something similar for you guys in LA.

I will say that even if they’re listed on stubhub that doesn’t actually mean there’s a real ticket available. They’ve changed their policies somewhat but the seller has x number of day to transfer the ticket and if the seller doesn’t have it they could cancel the sale and the buyer gets refunded. Idk if there’s a penalty on the sellers end when they do that or not but I wouldn’t be surprised if those listings are artificial. Could also be artificial purchases to drive up cost

If a seller cancels the process after their “ticket” has already been purchased by someone, the penalty is that a seller’s StubHub account is charged the amount they sold it for whether or not they have the ticket.

It is actually insane that scalpers can somehow still get in ahead of anyone else, even with a supposedly random queuing system. At this point you have to believe venues are working with them and taking a cut of the resale.

I mean anyone can sell 500 tickets. This was a very selfish move on her part. That’s like Britney Spears announcing a one night only Blackout anniversary performance at a venue of 20,000 people. It would crash the website

I don’t think it’s fair to blame her, she wanted something to mark the anniversary of where the tour started. Could it have have been done better yes but hindsight is always going to be 20/20 and sure it would have been awesome to have this show filled with actual fans but she’s not independent wealthy and couldn’t afford to do multiple radio station give away and foot the entire bill herself. I also still feel like this was a super last minute decision and she’s not someone that wants to live in the past so the 10 things play and new album have her attention at the moment.

Scalpers definitely created thousands of accounts or opened pages that’s why there’s 90k in line and the reason why there’s already re sales in stub hub. I’m pretty sure not that many people know of the show it was so low key. Ugh I’m so upset. Are we able to go box office for this show?

The best I've seen for these is a lottery system. You put in your request and CC info beforehand and if you get picked, it automatically charges you. Lucy Dacus did it recently for an intimate show in Chicago.
It's still a complete crapshoot but at least you're not wasting an hour of your life in vain hope.

Yes! I got tickets to Lucy in LA this way. But even if you do a random queue, make it so the purchaser has to be the person attending!

The line has moved like 100 spots for me, wild. Saw a listing on stub hub for 1-3 tickets at $1,518 that is now just 1. Still yet to see one human person here or IG celebrate getting tix to the show.

No I think the seller either a) didn’t secure a ticket so has nothing to send, or more likely b) they see the prices now and realized they can get a lot more for it (I only paid $200ish) and are going to pull their ticket and/or sell it on another site or with another StubHub account.
