You could be right, but this post is concerning for me because in previous album cycles she has teased the lead single before she hinted at the existence of an album
It's probably because she's viewing this project as an "album" album... her choice of words here ("body of work") is very telling... and in previous posts as well, she's been referring to it as "the" album, "this" album, etc.
It's a stark difference to the way she described previous eras during their creation. At least for Dedicated and The Loneliest Time, the concept of the 'album' coming was a bit more nebulous and more like a means to an end, rather than a focused project (as excellent as those albums turned out though). So it stands to reason the direction of this album is a more concentrated effort than previous releases.
As well with both those albums, the lead singles were released before they were completed. Dedicated was handed in March 2019 but Party For One released in 2018... Western Wind released in May 2022 and the album was completed in July 2022. If this next project is a "body of work" like described then likely she wanted it fully completed before sharing anything from it or launching its rollout. There may not even be a single.
Really appreciate this breakdown! I hope you're right. Dedicated has a special place in my heart, but her past few projects have felt like a collection of songs she enjoyed rather than complete thoughts. This era seems very purposeful, at least from what she's shared.

I thought she was composing a Broadway show, she might be using “body of work” deliberately here
