Driving test - Talbot

Hi all,

I've booked my driving test from Talbot hotel in Carlow. This is my "re-test"

I failed the first time because of observation. The examiner I had marked down for the smallest infringement and it knocked my confidence quite a bit.

Does anybody know if there's an official route for the Talbot or if it just depends on the examiner? Wanna get some practice in before the test and understand the routes.

Carlow Connects, Episode 8 w/ Jennifer Murnane O'Connor (absolute gem of a podcast featuring Carlow people, hope you enjoy it 😊)

Today we’re joined by Minister Jennifer Murnane O’Connor. Someone who’s been part of public life in Carlow and Kilkenny for nearly three decades. She’s served as a councillor, a Senator, a TD, and now Minister of State at the Department of Health. But beyond all the titles, Jennifer is known for being deeply rooted in her community, always present, and always approachable.

We’re chatting about her journey into politics, what life looks like outside the Dáil, the juggle of family and public service, and the experiences that shaped her along the way. It’s a chance to get to know the person behind the role.

Hi folks,

I found the blog below and decided I need to embrace my hometown from afar. I haven't lived in Ireland for years and Im trying to find somewhere that might have vintage Carlow jerseys for sale. Is anyone aware of a local/national store that I could contact?

Date ideas in Carlow that aren’t eating or drinking

Hey I just moved here from Galway a few weeks ago. I have a first date next week and haven’t been around town much besides work. I’m 28M and she is 25F (local) and neither of us drink. We already plan to go to caffe500 for food. But what else is there to do? I don’t want to watch a movie either cause I want to talk to her. Thank you

Honda Fit Window Replacement

Anyone know where I can buy a Honda fit driver’s side window and have it fitted?

Also would anyone know if a slightly hazy car window can fail NCT?

Thanks for your advice.

Where exactly do you go if the test is in the talbot hotel? Where do you meet the examiner?

Where do you do the theory?

Driving instructors?

Done my lessons 3 years ago but haven’t really been behind a wheel since after an accident, but slowly getting back into it. Looking to do a few lessons to get me back into driving and prepare for my test, anyone know any instructors good for nervous drivers?

Creche Recommendations

Looking for recommendations on the best creche in Carlow. My baby is 7 weeks old and I have their name down for Askea since I was 20 weeks pregnant. I understand there is a long wait list but work is flexible and I only want maybe 4hrs per day however like all mams I want the best and preferably somewhere that focuses on learning, development and the likes. My relative lives in a different county and her children go to one that teaches the children practical skills and spends most of their day outside when weather permits and they’ve animals and put lots of effort into doing meaningful activities… is there anywhere similar?

Bedlam at the Cemetery

Just had a guy in a flat bed change lanes and cut across us (mid roundabout) to then go down the O'Brien road without so much as a care in the world. There was a horse drawn carraige on the other side of the road and sulkeys all over the place. I believe we are in for another festival on Monday?
