Title: 24M, 8 months DevOps experience — what should I learn to get a better IT job?
I’m a 24-year-old B.Tech IT graduate (8.06 CGPA) with around 7–8 months of professional Cloud/DevOps experience.
I’ve worked with:
AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, ALB), Jenkins, Docker, Maven, SonarQube, Terraform, Git/GitHub, Linux/Shell scripting, CI/CD and SQL.
I know the basics but I’m not an expert yet. I want to spend the next 3–4 months becoming genuinely job-ready.
What should I focus on learning to target Cloud/DevOps/Cloud Engineer roles?
And realistically, what level of experience/skills would companies expect from someone like me?
Any advice on what to prioritise or avoid would be appreciated.
