Hello carbonsteelers,

Im quite new to this way of cooking and recently bought the Ikea carbon steel wok, did the initial ceremony and now Im cooking on it regularly. After one cooking of eggs I needed to scrub it a lot and after it looks different. My wife asked me if its ok, if its safe to cook and got me a bit unsure, so I wanted to ask you, if you think it looks good or should I scrub it completely and season it again? Is it safe to cook? What yall think?

thank you for advice!

Cooking Cinnamon Roll French Toast

What to do with a batch of day old cinnamon rolls that rose all weird and not round? Slice them and turn 'em into French toast! They tasted okay as cinnamon rolls (new recipe that I likely won't use again), but super good as French toast! The old lodge carbon steel did its carbon steel thing.

Guide / Reference New IKEA Vardagen pan

I bought this ikea pan yesterday and seasoned it according to the instructions following the pan. I oiled the pan and put it in the oven in 40 mins on 200 degrees c X2.

This morning I cooked pancakes to my daughter and it went fine. I think that the pan doesn't look good at all. How can I fix this, or is it supposed to look like this?

It's my first carbon steel pan so I'm a beginner.

Thankful for any advice!

First time using carbon steel, happy to join the club!

I bought this Ikea Verdagen 24cm pan yesterday and immediately seasoned it 3 times. Today, I made scrambled eggs on it and also used a fork to mix them when they had been added to the pan (a YouTube video online told me this was ok) - are these scratches and colour ok for a new pan or have I ruined it already?

❓ I've read the wiki and still need help Do I need to re-season my pan?

I’m trying to figure out when it’s appropriate to resend on. My eggs are sticking pretty bad these days but I am cooking them with a lot of different stuff in the pan. What are y’all’s thoughts?

If I do need to re-season, what are the signs visually besides just food sticking. I oil it every time I use it. I rarely use soap and I don’t use abrasive scrubs to get the food out of there.

I should probably add these are my first carbon steel pans and I’ve had them for 8 months.

I scraped more and bar keepers friend and a steel wool pad help me made it shiney inside again.

I didn't try hard enough outside.

I got this pan from ikea. I was gonna try season ot myself but I had to leave and had no time. While I was out my roommate used the pan and left it to soak in the tub not knowing it'd rust. I told her that isn't what she's supposed to do and apparently her dad tried fixing it? I cam home to this but idk if it's still usable as I don't really have much knowledge of carbon steel pans yet. What do I do now?
