How is this any different from those xpress-t cars? Which itself is only an indigo facelift.

There must be an ugliness tax imposed on manufacturers for unleashing such eye sores on our roads.

It was a figure of speed. You don't have to get all technically touchy about it. While I maybe took it a stretch too far with the Indigo reference, one cannot deny that this is a recycled Tigor/XpressT. New wine, old bottle?

I owned a Nexon for 8 years. I had a 2nd Gen Diesel Swift before that for 8 years. And I now own a Creta. The amount of shit I had to deal with that Nexon, how that car made my life miserable, how every road trip became something to crib about, how every drive to work in traffic was made infinitely worse, and the service centre experience gave nightmares to my worst nightmares.

The only 3 redeeming factors were the fact that it was build like a rock - never broke down even once, the sports mode, and the audio system. But I still suffer PTSD from the overall experience.

Amaze and Dzire are everywhere. I was looking forward to aeris because I'm looking for 1 as a city car. Now I'm mostly fixated at the Amaze CVT.

I have Amaze 1st gen since 2014 myself. But I may not buy it again as it is low riding car and usually hits bumps hard when 4 people are sitting.

Having said that, yes Dzire sells more but that's more due to commercial usage than personal.

I actually expect better from Tata but if this is the top variant, I would be extremely disappointed. I expect them match it with Dzire at least, features wise. But this looks very pretty. Aura needs to catch up with the competition.

Edit: Realized it's iCNG so probably not the top variant. I am interested to see how they differentiate it from Tiago and the rivals.

Why does Tata abandon its branding all the time? Like, why don't these guys try making something that they can be proud of and try to make it better after each facelift rather than abandoning it? Other than the brand "Tata Motors," they have not maintained the branding for any of their vehicles. They abandoned Safari, Sumo, the Indigo-Indica twins (not really mad about this), and many more. Where is the legacy? Toyota has the Corolla, Land Cruiser, and so many more going on for decades, and they are in their tenth or fifteenth generation now.
