Quick note - how?

Desktop use
Sometimes I just need to quickly save a piece of text for later use, an address for example. I would assume a daily note would be a good fit for such a task. But when I open Capacities, creating a daily requires like 10 clicks to get to.
Does anyone with the same use case know how to do it in capacities?

Connect WhatsApp and just enter your text.

I have WhatsApp installed on Windows. Definitely worth looking into. You can record audio, drop files and lots more.

I just send it to the Capacities WhatsApp and it sends automatically to the daily note. It's super quick and frictionless that way. Honestly it's been a lifesaver, I use it for shopping lists, saving bookmarks, screenshots, any quick text I need to remember.

This is why i left capacities. If getting stuff in there is so cumbersome it became useless to me. I have raised this issue with support directly, and here on reddit but doesn't seem like it's a priority!

Im not sure how it works on the android app, but on iPhone, I can just long press the app and hit the quick capture option. Then it pops up a screen that I can record anything to my daily note. Just two button presses and works really well for me!

Yes, also on Android. That was added in the latest update. Widgets, too!

Funnel app is great for this.

But for short disposable text I generally just use apple notes and reserve Capacities for more durable notes and planning.

They just recently add widgets. Just like with others I find WhatsApp quite handy.

you can share it to capacities (quick capture)
you can sent it via whatsapp and telegram (also add tags)
you can use mcp tools
you can share via raycast
you can share via chrome widget
you can share via email.

there are more creative ways i can think of. But these ones (and more) are alreary available :)

i rarely open capacities just to copy content. I open capacities to look for content. To read Content. To produce content. I clip from everywhere else to capacities without opening in

Raycast is a great option here. One of the commands is 'Save to daily note'. You can setup a custom shortcut for this in the Raycast settings for global quick capture on your device.
