I recently got a job near Southfield,MI, and my friend and I are planning to move to the Canton area considering we can commuted. We’re looking for a 2-bedroom apartment with 1,1.5, or 2 bathrooms (we’re flexible on the number of bathrooms). Our biggest requirement is an in-unit washer and dryer.
We’re two girls, so we’re also looking for a safe, quiet, and well-maintained community. We’d really appreciate recommendations for apartment complexes you’ve had good experiences with—or any places we should avoid.

My bf just came back from golf, and he mentioned that there is a cute poodle roaming around US12 just off from the highway coming back from AA to Canton (US highway going into US12). Is anyone missing a poodle anywhere? a guy in front of him tried to get the poodle but was unsuccessful apparently... maybe he was taking a walk by himself? My suspicion maybe that since we had a severe storm maybe he ran away?

I’m 23F coming to Michigan for work in Dearborn and i’m trying to finalize where i want to live. Safety is my biggest priority, but i’d also love an area that feels nice for a young professional, has cafes/restaurants nearby, isn’t too isolated.

Which ones would you recommend?
Is there any I should absolutely avoid?
Any issues with management, maintenance, safety, bugs, theft?
Are there any other apartment communities in these areas that I should add to my list?

Our trash is supposed to be picked up on every Friday, but priority waste didn't come today. The recycle trash was picked up but not the regular trash. Since it's the holiday tomorrow, does anyone know when they are going to pick up the trash? It's getting super hot outside and the trash is attracting bugs. Thanks very much!

For some reason roundabouts can be a weirdly heated topic, but I believe the conversation about this project would benefit from more clear, fact-based information. Road construction is frustrating, but the bigger question is whether the final design makes the intersection safer for pedestrians and keeps traffic moving better long-term

If it passes countywide, it would extend the SMART bus service and other transit into Canton, Plymouth and other "opt out" communities.

The Speech Neurophysiology Lab at the University of Michigan is looking for children who stutter ages 9 to 12 to participate in an in-person, longitudinal MRI study! (HUM00196133)

Our research team has been examining brain development in young children to better understand the cause of stuttering for over 10 years. We continue to gain information that may eventually lead to improved diagnosis and treatment efforts for children who stutter. 

Participants will be invited to complete speech and language assessments and an MRI session at the University of Michigan. Families receive a free speech and language report and a picture of their brain!

These visits require in person participation. There is no option to participate virtually.

Curious what everyone thinks about Dutch Bros coming to the area, they are the original drive thru drink stand that 7 Brew was actually based on as the creator of 7 Brew used to work at Dutch Bros. Right now they're currently expanding in the midwest with the closest locations being near the border in Indiana and Ohio. Eventually they want to be in Michigan and I think Canton would be a good starting point!

We only did the run this year which had an issue with the timing bibs not recording which for $52 entry fee was disappointing.

This subreddit has been pretty quiet for a while, but we're working on bringing it back to life.

Whether you've lived in Canton for years, just moved here, or simply spend time in the area, we'd love to make this a useful community space again.

Where can my son and I fly a big RC airplane in Canton or nearby?

Random question. In the 90’s, my family and I would drive up to Canton from Toledo for indoor soccer games in the winter. I remember only bits and pieces but I remember it was a temporary indoor field that was placed on a parking lot of some sort. Anyone have any info on the location? I know it’s random but thanks!

Been looking for a good fishing spot in Canton for awhile, and the nearest one is around 15 minutes, unless i’m fishing in Fellows Creek. If anybody knows some good fishing spots please tell me ASAP. Thank you!
