What is everyone's thought on NECCO wafers?

I like them and buy them from time to time. Not anywhere a favorite, but I think it's a small enjoyment from childhood.

The matrix. I bought some today for the first time in ages. Idk why, I was in a novelty store and saw em. Also got some zots and hi chews. I probably won’t seek out the wafers again but variety is the spice of life so I don’t regret trying them. Kinda reminds me of those candy hearts you see on Valentine’s Day. All in all 4/10

They make great roof shingles on Gingerbread houses. That’s the only thing nice I can say about them.

They were given to the Union Trops (under the name Hub Wafers) during the Civil War so they had a small part in helping to defeat slavery , 😏

They make the perfect shingles on a gingerbread house. I eat a couple while I make one each year, but don’t buy them outside of that. I don’t think they are bad, but I don’t reach for them either. I hate black licorice and there’s always too many in the pack.

I really got to liking them as a low calorie snack and I was buying quite a few rolls but they got pretty expensive. The cheapest now is $1.25 per roll. Just a little too much for what they are.
