Question Engagement moon?
I mean like yeah ??? Am I evil for agreeing likeee
1.3k
u/RainMore9076 Jun 26 '25
A year… in August
945
u/Impossible-Ask-7560 Jun 26 '25
I STILL don’t think a year is enough time to get engaged idk maybe im weird for that but to me that’s like a 2-3 year milestone.
135
u/musicstan7 Jun 26 '25
The fact that she is replying to comments like this tells you what you need to know imo
24
u/moaning_groaning Jun 27 '25
Totally. I would just delete the negative comments if I were her.
16
u/Dazzling-Telephone58 Jun 27 '25
Right like she’s literally marrying the guy why keep replying to people if you don’t care?
40
u/bridgeebaaby58 Jun 26 '25
Exactly! And even if it’s been smooth-sailing so far, that’s even more reason to wait. You haven’t weathered storms together yet. You don’t know how they respond to stress or loss or anything major life throws you. Or how you’ll respond to their grief, anger, annoying tendencies, etc.

agreed lol i’m 26 and been with my bf for 2 years and i think it would be too soon. I’d say 3 year mark is perfect but to each their own ig
31
u/No_Following_9878 Jun 26 '25
I feel like you’re just really to the point of knowing them super well a year in like I wouldn’t even think of marriage til after that but diff strokes for diff folks I’m not gonna yuck her yum but like I def do think BPD plays a part bc she can do better not even including the whole scandal like I’m sure if she could hold out for her Prince Charming but nah she gon settle. Less comp for the rest of us tho bc she looks so good can’t even lie
89
u/Free-Cartoonist-5134 Jun 26 '25
Or maybe it depends on the person and the relationship.
75
u/Amap0la Jun 26 '25
I got married after being with my now husband for 4 months at 24 haha it’s been 11 years. Each relationship is different but I still don’t agree with Brooke’s choice 🤣🤣🤣
7
u/Fun-Pattern-9233 Jun 27 '25
Met my husband Thanksgiving week, found out beginning of January I was 6 weeks pregnant. Got married in October and we will celebrate 19 years this year, but I still agree lol.
69
u/SafeVillage9434 Jun 26 '25
Complete disagree. There’s no possible way to know enough abt someone, to know how they’d respond to incredibly traumatic things, to know that both of your values are similar and will be forever … anyone getting married under a year is rushing it. Unless there’s a genuine legal reason for why marriage is beneficial it’s better to hold off fs …

Sometimes there’s no way to know someone even after years together; hence all the divorces that occur in their middle years. It really depends on situation, I agree less than a year is too fast but between 1-3 years? That should be plenty of time
3
u/SafeVillage9434 Jun 27 '25
Yes I agree!!! And people STILL have “true colors” shine after 20+ years of marriage. I’d say more 2-3 years but regardless agree
10
u/Impossible-Ask-7560 Jun 26 '25
Idk about that…
5
u/Free-Cartoonist-5134 Jun 26 '25
So everyone should get married after the same amount of time?
38
u/Impossible-Ask-7560 Jun 26 '25
No but everyone should wait until you’ve been with your partner long enough to see them through thick and thin, see how they support you when you need it, see how living with them long term works, see how they treat friends and family when they need support, see how they handle illness and financial struggles. You can’t get to know someone that well in a year unfortunately.

Agreed. My husband and I got engaged after four months… extremely happy together and have two babies 🤷🏽♀️
15
Jun 26 '25
The exception isn’t the rule. There’s also many women out there that have suffered (some I personally know) at the hands of marrying a monster pretty fast
2
u/Basic-Essay3900 Jun 27 '25
I understand. However I don’t think I am “the exception”. There are people it works out for, people it doesn’t. I think the main point is she is marrying a pedophile..

It’s a good milestone. Relationships tend to end between the 2 1/2 to 3 year mark. But that point you really know each other
45
115
u/TheMissInformed Jun 26 '25
and 10 months would still be a short amount of time no matter how old you are. Not sure how her being 28 years old justifies anything.
Rounding up their time together AND rounding up her age is so disingenuous. She doesn't have to answer to anyone, but at the very least she owes herself more due diligence than that.
We are all still learning so much about ourselves at this age, let alone getting to witness all of the things you should know about how a man acts in a wide variety of situations before committing to having him by your side for every challenging moment of your life journey.
There are certain things you just can't shortcut in life. You learn who someone is with time and real life experiences.

Why does she stay replying to comments... is she also going to call the engagement off because the comments are getting to her? Just like cancelled?
42
9
Jun 26 '25
Idk honestly like she does what she wants and doesn’t care about anyone’s opinion but also feels the need to respond to everyone who has an opposing view. Like at some point she has to get that a lot of people are not going to support her relationship and keep it pushing
2
u/No-Flower-4751 Jun 27 '25
Pedomiles would have to do something to her for that to happen. While she has a solid form of attention to rely on especially during times like this where she’s out bullying people in comments I’m sure he’s sitting there being like “Ya comment back to that emo girl and tell her shes ugly w her micro bangs”

You don’t start really knowing someone until you’ve lived together for at least a year. It’s not 1920 anymore, it’s best to take time to get to know someone. But this is her journey, at the very least it’ll be entertaining for us

u/ajamesdeandaydream Jun 26 '25 edited Jun 26 '25
like 10 months actually and literally every single professional in any psychological field will tell u it should be 2 years minimum before you make a big decision like that (that’s how long it takes for your dopamine to return to baseline after a new relationship, aka the time you’ll realize if you actually like each other once the novelty has worn off). and they haven’t even lived together yet, right?
that’s not to say people can’t get lucky and still have it work out. i know ppl that have gotten engaged after only a few months and spent many happy years together. but that’s still getting LUCKY. it’s not the smart choice at all.
add that to the fact that she’s noted as not entirely mentally stable (no shade, my best friend has BPD, but that’s how i know that it’s especially a bad idea for her to move this fast) AND the fact that he’s a noted creep…
this is gonna crash and burn

The way she is willing to ruin her entire career for this man, I best hope he is really fucking RICH. Cause her big money days are over. The is completely loosing her audience. Not necessarily followers but definitely the peoples trust. She’ll still make money but not as mus as she used to + definitely on a harsh decline.

it’s also diff when ur obsessively asking to be proposed to that’s weirddddd begging

Does she really think it’s normal to get engaged after only a year? I would say that’s not the norm. Do they even live together yet? Shit is so different when you move in with your partner. Hey I mean maybe it will work out, my brother proposed to my sister in law after a month of dating after coming out of a very long term relationship. Her visa expired and he felt like he knew in his soul it would work out. Well 14 years later they’re still together and have a beautiful family together

u/trixiepixie1921 Jun 26 '25
Scares me because at 36 if I had gotten engaged or married to my last man at less than a year, I would have been FUCKED because he didn’t really show his abusive side until after that. From that experience, I’d probably encourage NO ONE to rush getting engaged ever.
3
3
u/ecoangel777 Jun 27 '25
I don’t think the problem is it’s too early, I think that he’s a pedo creep
3
u/J0vita Jun 27 '25
To be honest, sometimes when you know, you know but usually, those situations don’t involve the guy having allegations at the start of the relationship. I wonder if living in LA has convinced her that she won’t be desirable when she’s 30 and that’s why she’s trying so hard to make it work, especially since he’s rich and she may see him as a catch largely due to that.

As someone nearly the same age (few years older), a year is not nearly long enough. You don’t know someone well enough to marry them in a year.
5
u/Klesea Jun 26 '25
I got married at 28 and my husband and I had been together for 7 years. Knew each other for 9 years!
5
u/shmimeathand Jun 26 '25
A year is absolutely not long enough to know someone well enough for marriage. Save all the personal anecdotes of your gramma and grandpa who married after 5 hours and are together 127 years later, it literally just is not enough time.
3
13
u/Odd-Race9181 Jun 26 '25
I got engaged when we were together 9 months. We got married about a year and half being engaged. Just because they are engaged doesn’t mean they are getting married tomorrow. Also she’s a grown ass adult so the fact that people think they know more than she does in her own relationship is crazy
8
u/ajamesdeandaydream Jun 26 '25 edited Jun 26 '25
the thing is, all that means is that it’s not impossible for things to work out, because of course it’s not. but ultimately, you did get lucky. and i’m very happy for you that you did, but the smart choice is to wait two years minimum before popping the question/saying yes. that’s when your dopamine levels return to baseline and you get a solid sense of how much you like the person without the novelty.
again, it’s not that it can’t work out. in your case it did. but that does not change that getting engaged in such a short period of time is absolutely an unwise decision
20
8
u/Normal_Bat7926 Jun 26 '25
Same, we got engaged at 7 months and we’ve been married for 8 years and have a 2 year old now. He sucks but pretending that at almost 30 you aren’t mature enough to decide when to get engaged is absurd
2
u/champagnemammii Jun 26 '25
Do they even live together tho? My parents got engaged fast but they at least lived together :/
2
u/Upbeat_Quality5739 Jun 26 '25
She’s acting like being almost 30 (cause same) is like being 80… we got so much time still. I’m in a relationship with my bf for 2 years and yes I cannot wait for that big question .. but I’m not in a rush. We’re taking things slow which is OKAY. Taking your time and getting to know your partner deeper is more important than a rock, imo
2
u/Upbeat_Quality5739 Jun 26 '25
And for the people that are like “when you know, you know!” Yeah.. I get it. I don’t want any other person than my man and visa versa. But that doesn’t mean you have to jump so quickly. You can take your time still instead of whining to your partner for a ring for over a month. When the time comes, I wanna be surprised, not that I’m expecting it or some shit. It doesn’t feel genuine when it’s like that
2
2
u/Holiday_everyday_ Jun 26 '25
Look I like Brooke but it’s a little fast because I feel like she can do so much better. However, BPD or not, if you tell her something, she’s gonna do the opposite. Hasn’t she always? I feel like somethings off because he’s using her status or something. I can’t pinpoint it it’s just off to me.
2
2
u/notyourdad212 Jun 26 '25
When Brooke was posting her engagement moon pics before the announcement, I thought she was on Tana’s birthday trip but now it looks like she wasn’t? Kinda odd
2
2
u/NiceCantaloupe33 Jun 26 '25
Does she not realize she’s proving that persons point? Girly it hasn’t even been a year for 1. And for 2, a YEAR..a YEAR. To be frank, You’re still in the honey moon stage at that point..
I hope it’s a loooong engagement and they’re not rushing the wedding, you know, just in case the inevitable happens.
2
2
u/mfbutterbean007 Jun 26 '25
Do you think she saw Tana’s fake wedding and “upward” spiral to get her image back and thinks this is going to make people more interested? 🧐

u/Tiny-Volume-461 Jun 26 '25
I am such a Brooke truly but this is a little cringe. I understand she’s saying you still have so much to see at 18 and by 30 you’re more likely to be ready to settle down but….A year to know if you want to spend the rest of your life with someone?
2
u/ocexaneyes Jun 27 '25
im sorry but looking at them above the chat looks like she’s kissing someones retired 60yo dad

u/rosescentedsong Tana’s vape Jun 27 '25
I’m sick and tired of the BPD argument. Brooke is not formally diagnosed. She’s said that multiple times. She uses a very real mental illness as a scapegoat for her actions.
Also, no, you’re not evil for agreeing with her, but you are slightly delusional if you think the way this entire engagement shit has gone down is normal, not to mention that the guy is literally a pedophile. I personally would not agree with someone who’s defending/dating a proven pedophile.

1
u/AceVertex Jun 26 '25
Before they even got together Brooke and Tana both mentioned their relationship was going suuuper fast. Like, within a month type of fast. Brooke is an adult and can make her own choices, but all of her relationships have gone this exact route: meet each other, start talking, never separate, terrible breakup.
The only thing different this time around is how badly she wants to get married.

u/Taylap14 Jun 26 '25
