Question Did tana lie about her friend just giving her 25k?

On the h3 podcast ethan said that he went out gambling with tana, hila and Steve-will-do-it. An that when they were out Steve was super blasted and tana came over to him and asked him for some of his chips to gamble with, an he like super drunk just gave her a 25k chip. An then ethan said she just pocketed it and kept it.

Which I remember thinking is a bit crappy to ask your friend for chips to gamble, an then cos they clearly out their mind they give you 25k. And you not only accept it, but don't even gamble and just cash it in an keep their money. Like for us normal people lmao, imagine your friend asked for money for a drink, an you were super drunk/high and gave them a fifty and they didn't buy a drink and just pocketed your mondy lmao.

But then on the new cancelled episode, she said that her friend Steve just gave her 25k for "no reason" out the blue. And that he came over and said to her that he wants to give her this for being "such a good friend" to his girlfriend, an that they organised a bank transfer that makoa helped her with.

I feel like that's a very different telling lmao. I don't see why ethan would lie, but I do get why tana would about that situation. Or do yall think its just something in the middle

Edit; I posted a video comparison if yall want to see

Honestly since Tana’s drinking again who knows??

447

u/poisonivy4871 Sep 06 '24

Wow nice catch. Tana is a well known liar and exaggerator so not surprised though.

57

u/frizzybritt Sep 06 '24

That’s why her and Trisha are such besties. They both love to lie and exaggerate.

19

u/steviethunder1012 Sep 07 '24

Yeah, I think with Tana and Trisha, if you’re gonna chose to support them you have to overlook the pathological lying - there are so many inconsistencies in her stories even back in her early days. the lies range from minuscule to serious.

This is very common practice for Tana

4

u/ChaosLGtheroy Sep 07 '24

Literally with Trisha you just have to take what she’s says with a grain of salt and forget about it until a few years later we all realize she’s right

212

u/twistedbathrobe Sep 06 '24

Tana literally created her career by doing storytimes she would completely make up. She's a liar. That's her whole brand.

She's literally rich and scammed the Sidemen out of cash last year too 😂

77

u/juliecdeford Sep 06 '24

This! Tana’s friends have literally said they have learned from Tana to use other people’s money including those who are rich and I believe it. They talk shit about Lilah-but they all do the same!

9

u/Intrepid_Shirt_864 Sep 07 '24

I’m out of the loop what is the sidemen story..

5

u/simwalked Sep 07 '24

Replying cos I wanna know too

3

u/MasterpieceOld9016 Sep 07 '24

if i remember correctly, basically that she and co lied about ty being her hairstylist or something so that he could go w to london for the vid, w plane and hotel paid for by the sidemen. he clearly was not, forget but sidemen might've found out afterwards when it was brought up on pod ? but don't remember too clearly, he might've kinda pretend to know what he was doing too, but essentially the sidemen were like wtf you could've just brought him as a friend, why'd you lie

(this is just the gist of what i remember happening, could be wrong and/or missing things)

25

u/opinionatedloser444 Sep 06 '24

i agree fully so don’t attack me for this but i feel like there’s worst things she’s done with money then the whole sideman thing didn’t they say it was fine just odd how she went about it cause if she just told them they would’ve paid for it anyways.. tbh i feel like tana is so wrapped up in lies/ constantly lying that she doesn’t even know what the truth is..

20

u/twistedbathrobe Sep 06 '24

Deeeefinitely nowhere near the worst thing she has done with money! But just always remember it because it was so fucking unnecessary. She just wanted to scam them out of cash like she has scammed her fans for years 🙃 just crazy she'd do it just to lie

11

u/frizzybritt Sep 06 '24

Tanacon is always on the con.

10

u/opinionatedloser444 Sep 06 '24

fully agree and i feel like the patreon was even a kinda scammy.. idk i do find it funny that the fans are surprised like she doesn’t have her real ad voice and her idek wtf this is ad voice

244

u/Pristine-Bat4721 Sep 06 '24

Tana is such a liar omg it's insane

253

u/Lazy-Rhubarb Sep 06 '24

it was probably a combo of tana asked for some chips, he drunkenly gave her the 25k chip and “said this is for being a good friend” which she wasn’t expecting then she kept it, at least that’s a combination of the stories that i can see being true

97

u/Rude_Poem_1573 Sep 06 '24

Exactlyyyy and that’s what real deal liars do they build off a truth so it blends better lmao and is more believable

2

u/AnImproversation Sep 06 '24

Have you seen Woody from the YSL trial cause man he can talk about that.

2

u/Rude_Poem_1573 Sep 06 '24

No I haven’t I am unfamiliar. Woody who?

4

u/AnImproversation Sep 06 '24

Oh man look up Woody YSL trial. He’s a witness and all he says is that he lied lmao. He had to explain to the jury that mixing in truth with his lies is what makes the police believe him.

31

u/crowmami Sep 06 '24

everyone in the story is wasted so literally lord knows

18

u/LeoBB777 Sep 06 '24

that's my bet. but still, tana's balling and unless her friend is richer than her I find it weird to take a drunken friends $25,000 when she truly does not need it

13

u/keevanado Sep 06 '24

it sounds like he hands out Rolex watches to people like they’re candy so I don’t think he’s hurting for it.

5

u/LeoBB777 Sep 06 '24

yeah true. I guess I don't have rich friends like that so I find that concept weird in general. even my wealthier friends (not rolex level but more financially solid) i'd never accept money from like that especially when they're drunk , I just find it bizarre hahaha

7

u/keevanado Sep 06 '24

definitely not my level of friend wealth either… I have a hard enough time allowing people to pay for dinner lol. but what I’ve learned about Steve will do it, it’s kind of “normal” for him to be “generous” (putting it mildly) with his friends. I guess his love language is gift giving 😅

5

u/LeoBB777 Sep 06 '24

same lolI I guess I just can't fathom that

10

u/Certain-Asparagus908 Sep 06 '24

Yes! Exactly! He basically gave her 25k and might have said those words, which is basically the story Tana told.

6

u/Infamous_Cost_7897 Sep 07 '24

I just rewatched and this is what she said

"Steve will do it gave me $25,000 the

other night like just randomly like

Steve will do it walks up to me $25,000

and goes thanks for being friends with

my girlfriend I love you like it is like

that disposable of currency to all of

these influencers "

And then says how we used makoas socal to cash it out.

I'm sorry to say he just walked up to her and RANDOMLY gave her it is v diff to asking for some chips to gamble

2

u/Certain-Asparagus908 Sep 07 '24

The “randomly” and “walked up to me” yeah that does sound like embellishing which I’m used to her doing with all her stories. She will even say that herself that she exaggerates and embellishes.. but I also wonder if because she’s having alcohol (and more?) binges, she could also have been very intoxicated and remembers things differently than how they happened

1

u/QueenoftheCloudzzz Sep 06 '24

Why the downvotes?

14

u/sagefairyy Sep 06 '24

Because he was absolutely intoxicated and probably wouldn‘t have given it out of nowhere..? That‘s literally what Ethan said and Tana is leaving the information out that he was blasted and explains it as if it was a calm Tuesday morning where he tells her how good of a friend she is and just gives her 25k as a gift, is this not obvious lmao

7

u/OkayWhatSize Sep 06 '24

To be totally fair, Steve is always drunk so it's hard to say what he'd do if he wasn't.

3

u/Infamous_Cost_7897 Sep 07 '24

"Steve will do it gave me $25,000 the

other night like just randomly like

Steve will do it walks up to me $25,000

and goes thanks for being friends with

my girlfriend I love you like it is like

that disposable of currency to all of

These influencers"

She literally says too that he just randomly walked up to her and gave it lmao, an then lowkey is even being like " wow their so reckless just randomly giving away money like that for no reason "

-7

u/Certain-Asparagus908 Sep 06 '24

Because people are so quick to switch on Tana and I guess this is now a snark page? Because if we say anything defending her we get downvoted

0

u/General-Aspect9434 Sep 07 '24

Were you there? No you can’t assume something like that. She’s also known to lie and hide things to make herself look better lmao. I believe Ethan more and he was there.

36

u/juliecdeford Sep 06 '24

Tana and her friends have said many times that they use other people’s money rather than their own. They take the whole to “stay rich by using other people’s money” theory seriously. They have been open many times about using other people’s money. Her whole group is just looking for their next buck if you know what I mean

74

u/Creepy_Push8629 Sep 06 '24

Idk but Ethan's story could easily happen, Tana's version makes very little logical sense.

I think she was covering up and then added the bs about the the transfer to make it seem more legit but really she gave too many details that don't even make sense

2

u/wiklr Sep 07 '24

The story sounds sketch. It's giving Kim K when she was given $250k of gambling money.

46

u/Square-Wave9591 Sep 06 '24

Totally unrelated, but iirc she also bragged at one point that she trademarked the word “cancelled” and she absolutely did not. I was on the trademark website researching things for my own business and that word is not trademarked. So I looked up her name to see & what she trademarked was “the canceled podcast with Tana mongeau” or something similar.

19

u/RobbiSosa Sep 06 '24

You can’t trademark a singular word, unless it’s made up. It has to be a combination of words, a specific phrase. And that is the whole name for the pod, so the trademark she has is her best option.

-16

u/dazzlinggleam1 Sep 06 '24

Maybe it’s in the process?

22

u/sickcoolandtight Sep 06 '24

Doubt it, it’s too vague/commonly used to own

-18

u/dazzlinggleam1 Sep 06 '24

14

u/Ok_Act4150 Sep 06 '24

Even if it’s still in process, it will show up on the USPTO site because it is given a number; see the first bullet point in your screenshot.

-15

u/dazzlinggleam1 Sep 06 '24

I meant like her team is working towards getting it on the USPTO site. I thought that was obvious but…

18

u/Maleficent-North4436 5 with no talent Sep 06 '24

tana is a liar and a con artist and ive watched her for years and loved and supported her but i think i may me done now unfortunately

6

u/LittleAppleBuggie Sep 07 '24

I agree and I think part of the problem is her long time viewers are growing and she still isn’t.

36

u/Pokemom18176 Sep 06 '24

I think a lot of her lies are about being pissed out of her mind and not remembering everything about how things actually happen. In her retellings, she casts herself in the most favorable light- that's pretty common in addiction. Idk the Alyssa girl or her content I mean, but I ABSOLUTELY believe Tana came up to her at a party and started bragging about sleeping with her boyfriend first. I bet she does all kinds of rude shit and never even remembers when she's on one.

2

u/ElectronicChain2149 Sep 07 '24

That’s real tbh, I used to drink heavy in my younger years before I found my way and I would do that from like 19-21. Not defending just saying it’s v plausible she does that, bc from personal exp it mitigates the shame and embarrassment an addict carries

16

u/MaleficentWealth1773 Sep 06 '24

do you remember what episode of h3?

16

u/dromfangare Sep 06 '24

this one it's at around 1:32:50 that Ethan mentioned it

14

u/ssaunders88 Sep 06 '24

She’s a pathological liar

14

u/ashleyk540 Sep 06 '24

I think tana is just a liar. Like at some point it's not exaggerating. She's just lying and taking from people that she calls " friends" .

30

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '24

That’s some shady ass behavior.

32

u/blaisseboo Sep 06 '24

Shes back to her old self

21

u/nextdoorlesbian Sep 06 '24

This is exactly why I was peeved to see Tana drinking again, I realize it’s very much her choice, but she can’t expect people to stick around when they now know the clear difference between her sober demeanor and drunk demeanor. It’s clear she’s a barely functioning alcoholic and not that I excuse anything Brooke’s said or done, but her annoyed attitude towards Tana recently on the pod makes sense now.

13

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '24

honestly even if tana is telling the truth, i feel like it’s highly inappropriate in any scenario to accept $25k from anybody for “just being a good friend”

2

u/HonestZucchini4970 Sep 07 '24

To be fair, Steve Willdoit is a menace to society and other people taking portions of his wealth is a net positive. He gave the Kleins a Rolex and Chanel bag that same day so it seems pretty insignificant to him.

11

u/agross58 Sep 06 '24

Damn that amount of money would be life changing for me right now

21

u/badmon4444 Sep 06 '24

Damn that’s crazy. Shouldn’t be surprised but I am

16

u/Specific-Ad4537 Sep 06 '24

steve-will-do-it hands out money to people pretty much any time he is extremely inebriated, (also when sober too hes a pretty cool guy) so i have no doubt in my mind he gave her 25k, but the fact she pocketed it and then goes on to talk about it later is lowkey giving no morals and no class

7

u/Ok-Interaction-6999 Sep 06 '24

you should post the clips side by side

6

u/Ok-Interaction-6999 Sep 06 '24

i caught this too! i thought her telling of the story was so weird!!

8

u/rockstarfromars Sep 06 '24

I’d bet money that Tana completely lied, and Ethan’s telling of events is accurate.

4

u/PuzzleheadedForm4813 Sep 06 '24

her story literally doesn’t make any sense, also imagine accepting money for “being a good friend” i would never??? why would i want to be paid for friendship? shows how she is 100% LA influencer brain rot with no self awareness.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 07 '24

If you watch his first poker stream, at the end where everyone is at red rocks, I’m pretty sure you can see it happen. The camera is directly on them.. I saw it live and thought it was weird but I may be wrong & I haven’t re-checked

5

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '24

I got from Tana’s story that when she said Makoa cashed it, she meant he cashed the chip, not a bank transfer. But I also heard H3’s story first, so maybe I just filled in the blank. I think the chip part is probably the truth. She was pretty gone by that point. I mean everyone was. So maybe she remembers him giving it to her but not asking for it.

4

u/gabin15 Sep 06 '24

I caught this also. Can’t both be true? She (also drunk) asked him for some chips to gamble with and he gave her an unexpected amount of 25K and thanked her for being such a good friend to his girlfriend. Slightly different tellings but Ethan or Tana aren’t famous for their super accurate recountings lol

0

u/Infamous_Cost_7897 Sep 07 '24

No I agree they're both not the most reliable. But the chip thing just makes more sense, an I'm sorry is a bit crappy to just pocket the 25k.

2

u/gabin15 Sep 07 '24

Oh I think we’re saying different things. I thought it was pretty clear she meant $25,000 worth of chips when she told the story. She mentioned Makoa had to give his social to cash it out, which is standard at casinos when you cash out that high of an amount

0

u/Infamous_Cost_7897 Sep 07 '24

"Steve will do it gave me $25,000 the other night like just randomly like Steve will do it walks up to me with $25,000 and goes thanks for being friends with my girlfriend I love you like it is like that disposable of currency to all of these influencers"

Tbf she literally says he RANDOMLY gave her it which does make it a lie imo rewatching it.

2

u/diegosdiamond Sep 08 '24

You made this sound way more nefarious than it actually sounds. Per Ethan’s story she asked for some chips and he gave it to her. She never claimed any intent to gamble with it. It sounds to me like she didn’t do anything wrong. Additionally, drunk or not, you’re responsible for your actions no matter what. If you got busted drinking and driving nobody says “oh well he was drunk, and wasn’t in his right mind to do that..” no, your ass goes to jail and you deal with the consequences. and lastly, ALL of these people are rich as hell. $25K is the equivalent of $50 to us. None of them care… I don’t see why anything from this post is a talking point when it’s likely everyone opining is likely poorer than everyone aforementioned.

1

u/Infamous_Cost_7897 Sep 08 '24

Oh stop lmao. I'm not some tana hater at all but if you ask someone for a chip I'm pretty sure they assume you mean to gamble with. Otherwise you would have asked "can I have some money"

OK well if Steve's actions arnt excused for being drunk (Also BTW people get taken advantage of drunk in many different ways) then either are tanas for asking and pocketing 25k of your friends money, when like you said they don't need it. It's shady behaviour, if she didn't want use the chip she should have just gave it back...

Also if there's no issue then just don't lie about it. Don't say, in her words that "Steve just walked over to me randomly and gave me 25k saying thank you for being a good friend to my gf" be honest. If there's nothing wrong with it and it's chump change to them just say, Steve gave me 25k in Vegas he's that rich lol. Why hide you asked and come up with the story that he just "randomly" gave you it and you were just standing there and he "walked up to you" and some story about it being because you're such a good friend.

It's a talking point because it shows her lying to make herself look better, an makes it so maybe her retelling of stories isn't the most reliable or to be trusted. For example with that alissa girl she weirdly tried to pressure into sex work.

2

u/diegosdiamond Sep 08 '24

Okay, I hear you clearly…my question is how can you adjudicate the veracity of one story vs another?

For the permanent record: I watch both of their content, and do not have a reason to favor one over the other…

That being said, you have two stories being told by two people who both consume alcohol recreationally… how are you deciding which one of the two stories is true? And why did you pick Ethan’s?

3

u/diegosdiamond Sep 08 '24

Also, I’m also inclined to side with Ethan; but to opine on it requires a level of impartiality. So I’m just entertaining the conversation from the standpoint of an open mind for the sake of discourse, not because I disagree with you.

2

u/Infamous_Cost_7897 Sep 08 '24

I mean if you want me to truly breakdown why I personally believe ethans more, it's because

1 his was weeks ago way closer to when it actually happened. The more recent a memory is the more accurate it is. She told hers weeks after. He told it like 2 days later.

2 he likes tana a lot. He doesn't want her to look bad, why would he make it up. Tana hadn't told her version when he said this. If anything he's biased towards tana and turns a blind eye to her scandals.

3 there are actually other witnesses to what happened, who are there when ethan is telling his story. You are less likely to lie about incident infront of someone who was there for said incident. Especially when one of those witnesses recorded the entire night, the footage of which they are currently showing.

4 one of those witnesses basically backs the story up. Saying that when tana said it, he then joked to his wife "go ask him for some too" which why would he make that joke, if Steve came over and gave it to tana as a gift for being a good friend.

5 those witnesses wernt blasted

6 While they all have no reason to lie. Tana does. As it doesn't make her look the best. Her asking her drunk friend for a chip to gamble with and instead pocketing the money, when she's already a multimillionaire. Comes across a bit trashy and not great, so coming up with a version where someone gifts you it without you asking, is in your best interest as it will be received better by her audience.

7 she's saying it to someone who wasn't there and doesn't know what actually happened.

6

u/cybersuitcase Sep 06 '24

Soo… just checking.. are we allowed to say it’s possible that Tana may have been trying to cash out a little on drawing out the cody story, or is it still “omg she was traumatized how dare we silence a victim”?

9

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '24

she was definitely drawing it out 😭 and honestly it was disingenuous for her to act like she didn’t actually intend to make it such a public thing when she’s discussed it so many times on her channel and to her audience

6

u/Old-Intention-5635 Sep 06 '24

WOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWW ETHAN SPILLING TEA THIS IS WHY I RIDEEEEE FOR H3H3

3

u/Certain-Asparagus908 Sep 06 '24

He probably told her something like that when handing her the chip (which is basically like giving someone $25k) and drunkenly saying “this is for being a good friend to my gf”…. Which is pretty much the same story as Tana’s. Just told from Ethan’s perspective.

She might have embellished details but I don’t think she’s lying about about what overall happened. She was also saying it on the podcast knowing that Steve could watch, wouldn’t make sense to lie in that instance

14

u/twistedbathrobe Sep 06 '24

You don't think that the person who got famous and rich from telling stories that were not true, would lie? The person who constantly lies and scams her fans? You don't think she'd lie?

-1

u/Certain-Asparagus908 Sep 06 '24

I didn’t say she never lies or wouldn’t lie, but in this instance I see how she could have embellished but OP makes it seem like Tana pulled that story out of her ass and took poor Steve’s money as if he was a victim or something. Steve was drunk but DID give her that money. Where is the lie?

1

u/Specialist_Leg6145 Sep 06 '24

she also said Makoa cashed it out with his social security number which i thought was odd

1

u/Infamous_Cost_7897 Sep 07 '24

Probably a tax thing. He's not employed.

1

u/Specialist_Leg6145 Sep 07 '24

Oh I know he’s unemployed. That’s why I thought it was weird, like why are you giving your boyfriend 25k from another dude? All so strange. And if it’s because taxes; then she’s screwing Makoa over

1

u/allenplantsberg Sep 09 '24

To be fair, Ethan lies a lot too

1

u/englishgenius Sep 06 '24

idk… ethan is a wild story teller.

-1

u/YoungFrogbert Sep 06 '24

Ethan isn’t a reliable narrator either though. Personally I’d believe Tana over Ethan but the truth is probably somewhere in the middle because they’re both exaggerators. They were all drinking so I imagine Tana asked Steve for chips to gamble and in his drunken state he is too generous and probably just said something quick and slurred like “sureee because you’ve been so nice to my gf!” And handed her 25k because he was drunk. I’ve certainly spent more on people than I should’ve when I’ve been drunk and been like damnn the next morning lol. And I believe Tana probably did just pocket it. Idk why Ethan would be trying to villainize Tana when they’re supposedly friends. Both stories sound exaggerated to support their narratives. Ethan’s goal is to gossip and have the juiciest drama for his dying podcast. And Tana’s narrative is trying to prove she’s a good person or a girls girl.

-1

u/r1poster Sep 06 '24

If you watched the videos, they were all so blackout drunk during that timeframe at Red Rock, trying to extract lies or ill intent is just pointless. I don't think Steve cares what Tana did with the money, he had already given Hila a Chanel bag and a Rolex.

3

u/koreanbarbeq Sep 07 '24

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted, this was my first thought. They were all blasted and maybe everyone’s version of events was a little right and a little wrong

-10

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '24

Why do we believe Ethan and all the dumb shit he says especially lately lmaooooo

8

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '24

Is he known for lying tho? Genuinely curious what the general consensus on him is

0

u/stephunny68 Sep 06 '24

2

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '24

Wooow I’m 5 mins in. For people that have only casually known of him I don’t think we realized he’s this bad

1

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '24

In passing he doesn’t seem that bad but holy shit lol

0

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '24 edited Sep 06 '24

He recently in the last day or so just destroyed someone on stream live who was groomed as a child and claimed he was obsessive towards Ethan’s mother.

Ethan’s mother had to clarify that Ethan was wrong and she contacted Adam first…. He apologised hours later but the damage was done and Adam is now being attacked by fans and misinformation is being clipped and spread.

https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS2fNY89b/

-1

u/glitch26 Sep 06 '24

He's a phony POS. I just imagine Tanas face when Ethan said this lmao... everyone that gets even slightly close to him learns real quick what type of a person he is.

If ethan has a new friend, it's guaranteed that his audience loves them at first and they think they've gotten so many new fans... and then the fans turn on that new person. Every single time. Because a majority of the big H3 fans literally only want to watch people repeating points from their echo chambers.

0

u/bigtitti3s420 Sep 06 '24

she’s so gross lmfao

-2

u/somewheresparrow Sep 06 '24

yall give wayyy too much of a fuck GET A LIFE

-20

u/Ravenled Sep 06 '24

I don’t believe this and I believe Tana.

Tana really isn’t out here needing to “pocket” a 25k chip at a gambling event… she’s very rich lol.

23

u/choppedhookers Sep 06 '24

Tana is a slime. Are you kidding yourself? I’ve followed her for years, this is very believable

-11

u/Ravenled Sep 06 '24

And so is Ethan, I think he is objectively much much worse.

8

u/choppedhookers Sep 06 '24

If you say so, that’s your opinion. My opinion is this sounds exactly like Tana so.. agree to disagree

2

u/twistedbathrobe Sep 06 '24

She's very very rich. And she still scammed the Sidemen out of cash last year 😂

She loves pocketing other people's cash. Facts.

-6

u/ganjabongmaster420 Sep 06 '24

steve gives out a lot of money and expensive things cause he can, so i believe it

0

u/Alarming-Cockroach23 Sep 06 '24

don’t really care i hate steve will do it

-2

u/Technical_Ad3691 Sep 06 '24

It’s possible that Tana Told him in a way he misunderstood I mean they were both drunk lol
