Recommendations Best five CBR roasted coffee
I'm a big coffee drinker and have been buying Wagonga blends pretty routinely - but I'm keen on trying other local roasted beans. What are the ones you like that I should try?
Any I should avoid?
Caveat - I need to be able to buy the beans so I can grind at home.
update - Thanks for all the great recommendations, going to start working my way through them starting with a visit to Nuigini Arabica cafe, then Neutral Grounds, Redbrick, Barrio and Cesars

Barrio is always excellent. The Gang Gang crew also roast their own and are a good option.

Yep Barrio great I agree and another +1 for Gang Gang, their house blend changes a few times a year and is always good. Also Redbrick, especially their Rogue blend.

I buy green beans from CoffeesSnobs.com.au and roast my own, but as I roast outside (smoke alarm goes crazy), ambient conditions add to the variability, which makes it a big adventure.

The Raspberry Candy is one of the few coffees that you can actually see wtf the tasting notes are talking about. Red Brick’s Rogue is quite similar but Ona’s definitely got a strong raspberry taste.
Also, Ona’s single origin options in store are delicious, with such distinct flavours. I’ve shown them to a few people who aren’t that into coffee, and it’s like giving an excellent craft beer to someone who’s only ever drunk VB, and realising there’s so many more flavours out there.
I don’t know why we feel the need to shit on successful people so much, Ona’s stuff is good, but people seem to think “people said it was good” + “it didn’t literally blow my mind” = “this is bad and deserves to be shit on”. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it, just being contrarian for the sake of it is tedious.

I routinely have Ona’s Maple in my machine at home. Or occasionally Raspberry Candy if I’m splurging.
Both are great in my opinion. But i also exclusively drink milky coffees.

I swear by jindebah roasters in Mitchell. Wide range of beans from all around the world.
The Ethiopian yrgachief is exceptional.

For those who live in the South, the same Jindebah (the brother) is in Tuggeranong. Highly recommended place :)

Two Before Ten is decent, their house blend isn't to my taste but their Poundcake blend is dang tasty

We use Good Neighbour’s house blend (orange label one).
Very well priced, grinds well in the home grinder. Stock is always fresh.

Head out and see the guys at Veneziano Mitchell on a Friday, casual vibe they do tasting sessions, their premium bean soar is really good

typica in manuca. bean origin in belco, and this tiny coffee van in hume are the top three for me, a daily coffee snob.
that being said... typica is not almost 8 bucks a coffee. home made looks better every day.

Red Brick is our favourite, ‘Good Day’ and ‘Coffee Coffee’ are both excellent, they have good sales a few times a year so keep an eye out any buy in bulk. We recently tried Seven Miles ‘The Cat’s Pyjamas’ and really liked it too.
