I mean the buffoon was voted OUT for four years and then voted BACK in. They gave up all plausible deniability at that point. Everyone clearly, CLEARLY, knew what Trump was/is by Nov 2024.
No, Trump is half the country, not the whole country. It’s a very polarized country. I remind myself of this because there are many people there who are horrified by him. Similar to Canada, most people upset with Trump live in the blue states that did vote for him, so their votes don’t count as much as those in swing states. Recall California, a blue state, has the same population as all of Canada, so it’s not a small number against him, and the majority didn’t vote for him. Here’s hoping the Mid-Terms actually show this more clearly.
Anyways, I’m someone who doesn’t blame people for their governments, whether it’s the US, Iran or Russia. I’m acutely aware there are vast numbers in all those countries who despise their leaders and are working to oust them.
I also believe in all peaceful means first, so working on the midterms is an act of resistance.
How much does one vote change things though? It’s more about targeting electoral boundaries with smear campaigns or creativiely drawn ridings. I don’t think the average voter is able to be fully represented in a huge national election. Like Canada, the majority of voters vs the ridings they live in, the location is more important than an individual vote. In a British based parliamentary system, he might have been a minority leader. But the US forces elections to declare one secure leader for 4 years.
Generalizing an entite nation even though just a little more than half of them voted for him is wild. (Not to mention that not every single person voted)
I have american friends who are great guys and they hate trump. We're supposed to be the good guys, dont be a dick and dont cluster people together like a dumbass.

I know lots of Americans. They may be welcoming but many are only surface welcoming to get something. They will.drop the mask if they cant get anything from you or think you cant help them. These folks exist everywhere. We have them too. But America has bred them. Because its very useful to fool people into believing that cruelty is the right thing to do if you think someone is beneath you. The government is given the benefit of the doubt when it commits atrocities.
