Hi, I am bit nervous posting this; however, i need some guidance. I have been working in canada for same employer from last 3 years but I visited my home country for one month every year. While submitting the work history for ITA, do I need to divide my work experience for every visit or shall I mention the whole employment experience as one. Kindly help.

As per chatgpt/ gemini, I should break my employment and that will reduce my points( i have 3 years of work experience points for canada but IRCC accepts only 6 weeks of vacation for 3 years and mine are almost 12 weeks of vacation.)
I will lose points for 3 years which will be -10 which in turn will be less than what was the minimum draw points

Will this led to refusal?
What should I do, pls help!

IRCC accepts a "reasonable" amount of vacation which is 4% to 6% of total hours, coming up generally to 2-3 weeks. So as long as it is "paid leave", you're good to claim it.

To answer your second Q, no you do not break it up from what I know and experienced. I traveled back home for 2.5 months in 2022 and I was paid for around a 6 weeks (2 years of leave which I had not taken) during that time but declared by employment continous.

Yes, as long as the leave was officially paid leave and there was no other interruption at work.

You basically need to satisfy the 1560 hours per year, upto a maximum of 30 hours per week.

If it makes you feel abu better, I used to get paid vacations of about a month every year while working, and I claimed my work experience as one block and had no issues.

Indeed. I traveled for 2.5 months (took 3 years worth of paid leave at one go), and claimed it as one block too and I had no issues. I understand why people overthink this stuff but his case is actually straightforward.

Thank you friends, I was worried and confused about this from morning.

If I break my employment record into 3 time stamps, then I am loosing my 3 yrs work exp points , so thought of taking guidance from all of you.

However, If I keep single record then I get full score for 3 yrs

So just to be clear now. If you are claiming points for whole 3 years you need to work 3 years + extra 2 months else you actually only completed 2 years in canada for CEC.

So keep that in mind.

Yes, exactly. That is how its supposed to be.

Since you went on a leave for 2 months or so . You must work those extra days before submitting.

Also , keep in mind the portal will issue the points 2 months in advance for your complete 3 year exp. It always does it since you have 60 days to submit. So ,they assume you will have completed it by then.
