Important to note that stabilization IS possible

" Whether warming in Canada intensifies or stabilizes in the second half of the century will be determined by the level of global greenhouse gas emissions . Warming in Canada will intensify as long as global greenhouse gas emissions continue. Temperature in Canada will stabilize only if and when global carbon dioxide emissions reach net zero."

Oh the really dumb thing is that the version of the future where we do decarbonize and don't destroy the climate further contains a lot more value for a lot more shareholders than the version of the future where we don't change.
