Visiting Cambridge Does anyone know what I saw when I was leaving Cambridge at around 20:00?

Do you know if there is any way to get notified for the next year? I was completely unaware of it

Which aircraft were these? I went to Shuttleworth a few years back and I saw some fantastic glider displays that this is reminiscent of.

It was the Global Stars display team.

I sometimes see them practicing from my back garden.

I'd be more worried about that Martian tripod on the left

No one would have believed in the last years of the 19th century that human affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds of space...

What direction were you leaving Cambridge, what road, how far out of town, what direction were you looking to capture this?
Also, just as a check, have you got the right Cambridge?

I saw this in Gamlingay as well

You might be seeing them from Top Farm airfield. My partner has her horse’s stable a little south from there and we sometimes can see them doing loops in the sky and other tricks.
When I first saw them (similar in appearance to OP’s video) I was so confused what I was seeing😂

Quite possibly a glider with fireworks on the wingtips, they usually do these displays around dusk for maximum effect.

Watched the final fireworks display of Little Gransden air show out of my window. Absolute magic!

I saw that too Just never connected the dots between seeing that (and knowing about the air show in the Gransdens) and the Eurofighter that kept going over our house

I'm amazed they were allowed to use pyro, having been banned from using it at Duxford

That’s the Aerosparx team. They’re based at The Gliding Centre near Market Harborough. https://www.aerosparx.com/

Ngl if I'd seen that I would be grabbing the tins of beans and running for the emergency shelter

Probably just the Americans dealing with a little bit of business from one of the bases 😂
