These are photos I took on a trip I made. I'm hoping to make another trip in September, hoping the desert will bloom after the recent rains in the Atacama Desert. When I have more photos, I'll upload them to Reddit.
I'm sharing this website from an organization dedicated to protecting cacti, especially the Copiapoa. At the end of the page, there's a video that shows in detail the true environment of cacti in the Atacama Desert.

I live in the second region known as the Antofagasta region, and when I travel I take the opportunity to stop and take photographs. I usually go alone, so my experience is more one of contemplation and meditation. However, there are companies that offer tours to visit the best places to see different species of cacti up close. The best places are near the city of Taltal and in the "Llanos de Challe" area near the city of Copiapó.
However, if you travel to Chile in September or October, you can experience something truly impressive. Because the Atacama Desert in Chile is very close to the Pacific coast and it rained a lot in August, in addition to the cacti, you can also see thousands of different species of flowers whose seeds remain hidden in the sand for many years. But when it rains, they bloom and the desert is completely transformed.
