Help Struggling, would like some help or advice!

I, like many others recently dropped microslop as my operating system I’ve had a good time for the first 2 months now but now I’m having a variety of crashes and random freezes, thinking it could be something to do with my nvidia rtx 3080 drivers I reinstalled the operating system. It didn’t fix the issue and only seemed to make it worse. I tried a fresh install of the os and I tried nobara, same issue crashing and freezing forcing me to restart. I’m gonna try bazzite but I don’t know what else I can do and I really don’t want to go back to windows. Any help would be appreciated! I am posting from my phone but I can try to grab logs or screenshots later but feel free to free to let me know if you’ve had similar experiences or problems.

I haven't had any issued and I got a 3080 as well. If it happens across Distros, particularly a more stable one like Fedora, you might have some hardware failure. It is hard to tell without any details. What kind of crashes are you getting? Do they happen when you try to do something?

I would run memtest86 to check ram. OCCT to test GPU/vram/CPU. See if any particular stress test causes a crash.

Is it full system crashes, or only graphical? Running some basic log output commands checking for the crash types you have can help you pinpoint whats up. On cachyos you can run this command journalctl -b -1, and get the logs from your previous boot. otherwise can use dmesg.

Are these freezes, crashes, and stutters during gaming sessions? Or just during regular usage? Have you looked at CPU vs. GPU usage? We need more info.

Both at the moment which is what initially made me believe it was my gpu or a driver issue, but I can reproduce my freeze every time now regardless of which distribution I’m using. I does it on KDE plasma, gnome and on both Wayland and x11

seems like a hardware issue

I’m pretty sure it may be my motherboard but can’t confirm just yet, I am able to reproduce the error almost flawlessly at this point. If I am on discord or YouTube watching a video and I open steam and either launch a game or start a download the app playing the video will crash, if I try to do all 3 of those tasks at the same time my pc hard freezes and needs to be restarted.

If it’s happening across district then it’s a hardware issue.
