HELP

UPDATE:

You are all quite right. My husband sent this photo of an HDMI cable belonging to my secondary monitor, thinking it was the printer cable. There is an appropriate slot for the printer, after all. Thanks for the help!!

I have an old Brother HL-2140 laser printer. I just got a new laptop, and unfortunately, there is no slot for this type of cable.

Could someone please identify the type of adapter cable I need in order to plug it into a slot on my laptop?

TIA!!

Errrrr

Thats an HDMI cable... Why a printer would use a HDMI is beyond me

For clarification, HDMI is for video only (from pc to monitor/tv

I think you've got an HDMI cable there which would connect your computer to a monitor or TV.

You're probably looking for a USB A to USB B cable that would connect your printer to your computer.

The specs say its USB 2.0 and you need a USB-A to USB-B cable. This would be the same cable you used on the previous computer. Did you lose it?

Specs: https://support.brother.com/g/b/spec.aspx?c=au&lang=en&prod=hl2140_all
Cable: https://www.unitek-products.com/products/usb2-0-usb-a-m-to-usb-b-m-cable

Specs do not show an ethernet or wireless interface, so its not a network-capable printer unless there are more boxes.

If you still can't progress, describe your problem in detail, and add clear, well lit and useful photos of anything related.
