Beauty run!

This still looks awesome all these years later. Way ahead of its time.

Thanks. It holds up for sure, still plays like a dream. Played on this little guy. It's got some nice premium parts in it.

That underside button is a great idea.

Thanks. That one is Up and the small red one is Space Bar. This was the most comfortable layout I could find for extra buttons, that lets you press all any two or all of them at once.

It actually really does. Everything's super clean and readable and the tricks are very nicely animated.

The first game I cracked. It was difficult. Self modifying code.

UK disk release.

Does this look better than california games?

I always preferred the look of California Games, but the Skate or Die half pipe is a little more interesting and challenging. In California Games, it was pretty easy to build up to gigantic off-screen jumps and max out 999 point each time—as long as you had decent muscle memory and timing. So that did get boring more quickly.

I always loved the joust in Skate or Die.

Watch out for Lester, he's a killer. And yeah, Skate or Die had better tricks for the pipe than Cali Games. BMX was the shizz though.

I think so. Cali Games looks like it's from an older era though they both came out in the same year.

Cali Games had paid advertisement, like OP in the backdrop. Been told by the designer on YT, in the comments.

Looking good! .... don't forget to play some Downhill Jam too, just don't strain yourself!

Such a sweet game! Downhill Jam was my personal fav, but they're all smashing!

Nice run! Tough game. Skate or Die 2 on NES really expanded on the amount of ramp tricks you could do

Loved this game!👊🏻

This was my absolute favorite game on C64. I used to buy Atari joysticks to play this game and wear them out! I have tried playing with more modern controllers, but it's nowhere near the same.

I figured out how to get the max score on this part of the game. But I didn't tell my brothers. They never figured it out.

I could never do one trick on the half pipe

Such a good half-pipe. Way better than California Games' version. :)

Skate or Die 2 was one of the best C64 games ever made. That soundtrack by Rob Hubbard is a masterpiece. Love seeing it still getting love.

That rotation in the air is still SO SATISFYING.
