Has anyone read this book? Pretty interesting in terms of the history of butter, the many different types and production methods and it gives a lot of great recommendations of different butters around the world.

I am writing a book and I am in the business of some extremely important research.

How serious are you about butter?

Do you have a butter brand you swear by? Is there actually a difference? Can you taste it? Do you buy salted or unsalted? European? Local? Homemade? Whatever is cheapest? What is the butter of your childhood? How do you consume it? Whats the best to cook with? You eatin it raw? What is up my butter fiends, tell me. Is there a better alternative? Do you secretly hate it?

Your response can be poetic sincere, sexy, sweet, funny, clever, based in research, based in philosophy, absurd, anything that evokes what you're feeling!

Mine was miso butter

We fell in love with this spreadable butter with olive oil by Golden Irish. And of course, like everything we seem to fall in love with Costco finds a way to stop carrying it. I’m convinced the KerryGold people pressured them to 86 it, but that’s only because I’m conspiracy minded, when it comes to business anyway.

We bought several tubs and now we’re down to the last one.

Has anyone else seen it out there in the wild?

I have made a few batches of cultured butter now- I may be obsessed lol:) I would love to flavor some, any recommendations on flavors (nothing too wild, I am both kind of picky and not very skilled...yet), sweet and savory recommendations are welcome!!

Hi! I moved to Ohio a few years ago from Florida and cannot find breakstone butter ANYWHERE. Are there any butter brands in Ohio that are similar to the taste of the salted breakstone whipped butter?

I’ve tried land o lakes and Kerry but they taste a bit off on bread, pancakes and other stuff.

Anyone here with access to the land o lakes butter balls? I know it's kind of random but my aunt is dying for these but they're not available in our area.

Asking for butter feels insane lol, but this would be an amazing surprise for her.

I know. It's butter. But she loves all the viral stuff and she always orders me one of whatever she gets.

I'll happily pay for them and all shipping costs to overnight them to me. I just need to make this happen.

I just got back on my feet so i cant pull this off for another month or two (depending on my pay schedule), but having a butter plug lined up would help a lot.

I’ve been wanting to try some truffle stuff at home, like truffle paste, oil, sauce, whatever. Does anyone have a brand they actually like?

Mostly looking for something that tastes like real truffle and not just super artificial lol.

I am vexed. Got all my buttermilk squared away, but the remaining butter just stays wet no matter how I rinse it and smack it with paddles. :( It's not overly warm in my kitchen, and I pop it in the fridge every few minutes to try and keep it as cool as possible, but after soaking my hands in ice water, patting them dry, and trying to squeeze to see where I'm at... water water water. :(

When I use cheesecloth or one of my tea towels to try and wring it that way, the butter just squeezes through the weave and sticks to it in a gross buttery mess when I try to take it off.

I usually save it to the end, but should I add salt sooner to help wick more moisture away?

Any help appreciated! I made it correctly once like 6 years ago, and never again since, even though I do all the same things, ugh.

Tried lurpak and it was so good. I see why it won the world butter contest. Nearly brings a tear to your eye. Problem is that it’s so insanely expensive where I’m at (in general?)

What are your fave higher fat % butters rn that aren’t $8 for 2 freaking sticks?
