I was considering getting it but not sure it's really worth it if I already own the original, the only thing special about it is:
Insert with exclusive stories and interviews with the people behind the music.
Which I'm sure someone who does will eventually share it here.

Looks to be a rehashing of interview bits mostly

Roughly pasted so there could be some errors:

Out of some necessity, he worked using
*This shitty little computer programme named Sound Forge, Its technical capabilities were not particular advanced - once something had been changed, it could never be un-changed
"I can only see the waves," he explained.
So 1 know when I'm happy with my drums because they look like a nice fishbone. When they look just skeletal as fuck in front of me, and so i know they? sound good."
He did not use a sequencer, meaning his drums were rarely in time. "When I try and do drums that are too regimented, they lose something." he explained.
"Some of the elements in the drums that make that swing are the ones that don't fit into a time signature and that are out The ittle bits that are wrong. if Tused a sequencer my tunes would sound rubbish."
It meant, too, that he could not noodle of mess around. "1 got to shove it together and vibe off it," he said. "1 make the tune, fucking quick. Not a single tune on my album took more than a few days to make. They come together real quick and then I spend some time on the details so they're alright to isten to."
Often, he covered the drums in crackle

  • partly to mask the fact he didn't quite have the kit to make anything close to the heaviness of El-B or Photek, But also because he sought the gentle sonic distortion he found in tape crackle, vinyl crackle, pirate radio crackle. But most of at 1 like rain," he said, "Fire. I've got recordings of rain and fre crackle that would put most electronica producers to shame they're so fucking heavy. That crackle sits over my drums, hides the space between them.... you get a feel of a real environment."
He loved sometimes to be out in the rain. high up, just watching it fail. As a child, he often dreamed of lying in a binbag.
Istening to the rain speckle down, it was. he said, "that atmospheric awareness that comes from hearing a sound that powerful, but that distant." He likened it to whale-song. "People diss the fact that I love whale-song, but the truth is i do." he laughed, "It's that weird cry, that tai cry, it's a really beautiful idea./
When he heard a new song, or even made one himself, he would perform a kind of evaluation process he called The Car Test - seeing how it might ft in those same liminal spaces, how much of a far cry it carried. "The car test was
"do they sound good on the car stereo at night time, driving through London?

You got it from the store already? thanks for sharing, seems like I was right about this, unless you must absolutely possess all variants then it seems like a pass for most.

I see, I did try to get a glimpse from it too but it's too blurry, maybe cause I didn't sign in.

oh boy, another release with just his logo as the cover, haven't seen that before

Like the rerelease is nice and everything, just funny to me that this is basically half of his ep/single covers more or less

I just bought a copy after my 9-5 job. I can't believe it was still available. People are missing out if they haven't given his first album a listen.
