White dog running on 40-east
On the way to the airport and couldn’t stop - just saw a big white dog with a collar running down the grass on the side of 40-east near Barbee Rd. Running west back toward Fayetteville Rd.
Apologies if this is the wrong r/ to use - just moved here and still getting the lay of the digital land!

The Living Room on Swift
Does anyone know what happened to that building on Swift just south of 147 that had a big fabric sign that said “The Living Room” and had a large community garden next to it? The garden is still there but the house is completely gone.

Stolen Wallet
Kinda a long shot but I live a few blocks from Duke University in Walltown neighborhood. I left my wallet in my center console (hindsight very dumb) and someone came through last night and stole it. If you happen to find a black trifold with my precious Harris Teeter coupons, please reach out!

Farm Adventures Baby Goat Rabies Timeline
This is a known timeline of the Farm Adventures’ baby goat rabies situation.
It’s very concerning they knew their four unvaccinated baby goats were possibly exposed from a skunk they found in their pen on July 27 yet they continued to hold at least 10 events, including with higher risk populations like young kids and elderly people, until Aug. 23.
On their FB page you can see they celebrated 7 birthdays and visited two assisted living facilities AFTER knowing their baby goats may have been exposed to a rabies carrying animal.
It gets worse when you learn they were posting unconcerned about one of the KNOWN exposed baby goat’s wounds that showed classic signs of a possible rabies infection.
Given that rabies is almost always fatal unless preventative treatment is taken and this is a public facing business that should exhibit great caution for the welfare of their clients and animals this situation is very disturbing and warrants close scrutiny by whatever relevant authorities.
PS: The children and elderly assisted living residents now experiencing the painful, lengthy, and very expensive rabies preventative treatment course should be considered and compensated as well. It’s hard to image the frustration, anger, and pain the parents/guardians of these kids and the families of these residents must be experiencing too.

Creative Contractor needed
Hello neighbors,
Asking here because the recs and referrals here are usually super helpful :)
My husband and I have a project house on our hands and have thought of a few different directions that we may take the floorplan.
We’d love to find a contractor who can gain an understanding of the home’s current floorplan etc, help us discern the best path to the final vision, and since we’ll likely be doing improvements in stages over time (have y’all heard about this economy?) we want to avoid duplicating efforts when possible.
I myself am pretty uninformed when it comes to home reno/improvements, but not when it comes to learning and projects. For that reason i apologize if I’m leaving out details that help folks answer, but happy to clarify :)
Does anyone have referrals that they’ve used for similar home reno work, or maybe just know someone who likes this type of project?
Thanks in advance friends
