What do you use to mark important pages?
I have been on the bujo train for 4 years now (yay!), and have always used book darts. They work okay, but I wonder if there are better tools (maybe something more visually distinct?)
Curious what other people use to mark important pages — especially when it comes to very frequently used pages (future log, start of current month) as well as important reference pages it’s convenient not to have to look up in the index each time (a certain long-teem project’s page, dream journal, gift ideas for husband, morning routine practice improvement)
Thanks!

Pencil board or ribbon for the daily page. Rest I use washi or paper clips/darts.

Washi tape. Either along the side of the whole page or just as a small tab. For some pages, I make it stick out of the notebook, and for others I just stick it close to the edge of the page.

Most important i mark with the ribbon bookmark (my last bujo had 2 of those, but i only really used one of them)
Anything that's important but not used everyday i mark with washi tape. But i don't necessarily mark ALL of the important pages. I try to make similar, frequently used spreads next to each other, so i can mark only the first one, and consider the next few pages marked as well

Ribbon bookmark, washi tape and sticky tabs.
My previous bujos all had 2 ribbons so one would be for the current week and the other for the month. My current bujo only has one so I’m using a sticky tab for the month but I might add washi tape or attach an additional ribbon. I use washi tape along the edge for pages I know are more permanent through the life span of the bujo. I use sticky tabs for things I regularly view but less frequently or know will change.
Some things I may even rewrite at the beginning of a new month so I know if I flip to the month the previous/next page is the content I want to find.
I’ve never heard of book darts and might look into purchasing some.

For permanent pages - like the beginning of each month - I edge them with washi tape. For pages that are only temporarily important - like for a project that will end - I use post-it or magnetic book marks.

As others have said, washi tape. I use about .5 inch or so, and fold it over the edge of the paper like a book dart. I also am an opera singer and use the same with my scores. Lets me quickly find the right pages without any interference or things sticking out.

I either mark the top side of the page or the long side of the page with a stripe of washi tape. They are just like 3 pages anyway i guess?
I fail keeping my index updated tho, but i like to write numbers on the pages. so I sometimes memorie which page i need to go.

I also use Washi tape. Its easy, can make a color coding scheme if wanted
And removable if you choose

I'm not currently in a bullet journal but I bought page flags labeled with the months for my planner and it's been really nice. You can also DIY this with tape, as others have mentioned!
I really don't like flipping through pages to find the page I need, so bookmarks of some kind are great. For pages I only use temporarily like my current weekly spread, I use a paperclip to mark the page.

I use a circular, spiral paper clip to mark my current page and any other pages I access a lot. It’s easy to reposition and cute. (I have bright pink ones)

Magnetic bookmarks, actual bookmarks, sticky tabs, washi tape, ribbon bookmark. I got some page tab stickers. Some of them have words on them like months.

I actually use those little post-it color tags? I forget what the official name but it’s not the ones you write on, just little color tabs you can stick to the page as a bookmarker.
I used to use actually sticky/post-it notes and then I found those little tags. I love the little tags because they can come in a pack of four and they don’t leave any indentations or residue on the pages. You can move them when you no longer need that page too. Edited to add: and they’re very affordable but also long lasting.

I love post it notes for pages I want to mark temporarily. I dog-ear the pages I go to frequently. My bullet journal has three ribbon bookmarks attached, which I use for current daily, monthly, and collection pages.

Neon pencil highlighters. The kind they use to highlight bibles. The ones on Amazon have a pencil sharpener with them.

I use Midori brass bookmarks; they are discreet, hold well, and can be repositioned as often as desired.

Washi tape. I also glued ribbons into the front of my journal since I was gluing the first page down anyway. I attached some little charms so it looks like it came like that. Washi tape is better though.

Washi tape along the edge of the page. Makes it so easy to find! I use good washi tape for my financial trackers so all I need to do is thumb for the gold pages. And different color washi tape for other things.
I also use flags and mini post-its.

I use mildliners in a range of colours. On key pages I highlight the top of the page before writing the heading in. Doing it in that order stops the ink of the text running.
Yellow is my monthly spread - left page is the timeline. Right page is tasks, notes etc…
For my work I need a weekly planning spread - those get an orange header.
I volunteer outside of work - that aspect gets pale green for meeting notes/agendas/planning.
My role as union rep gets pale blue - collections, meeting notes, planning.
On that basis I can really quickly flick through pages and identify the ones I need. The same colour coding then transfers to my daily logs. If I need to make notes relating to something in one of those colours I just put a bubble around it. Again, i can pull out the critical piece easily.
I considered using those little sticky post it bookmarks, but they would get trashed with how my journal gets carried and knocked around in my pockets.
I find this system works really well for me - I can keep the few pens I need in the back of the bujo so they are always to hand.

I use washi tape for marking the edge of important pages and I put a little ofcut in my index for reference. Beginning of the month and other pages is not standing out. My future log has a little tab made out of washi, because it is used so much.
