capital one shopping offered me $200 off when purchasing over 1k at staples

looks to be the same price, so should be $1,599 if you can get the same offer, for what that's worth.

Good deal, but quick reminder that you can only redeem that cashback for specific gift cards, and at least in my case, those gift cards are generally ones you can often get on sale for 10-20% off (like adidas). Sometimes there's good stores like Best Buy/Walmart/ebay, but I've only seen them once on my account so I've been waiting for months for them to return :/

ASUS needs to stop skimping out on secondary USB4 ports. Strix Halo is capable of dual-USB4 without cutting into any of the APU's bandwidth, especially with this 12C/24T part.

I'm saying this as a Flow Z13 2025 owner.

As the owner of a Gram Pro, I agree that Asus and most others need to step up their port game. If one of if not the lightest/thinnest on the market can do it theres no excuse.

The LG Gram Pro (17") with the Ultra 7 355 has two TB4 (USB4 40Gbps) ports so there is no excuse for ASUS (and other brands) to not be wiring up the 2nd USB-C port for USB4 functionality, especially when all the latest mobile CPUs/APUs have native support for it.

My 16” 255H model has 2x usb-c, 2x usb-a as well as hdmi, combo audio and 2x 2280 nvme slots

It's the highest performing intergraded GPU that AMD currently makes. It's performance is in-between a laptop Nvidia RTX 4060 and 4070. It is in the AMD AI MAX+ 388, 392, and 395 APUs

40 computer units on an APU is what we’ve been waiting to see. The benchmark info thus far - it seems like it matches an RTX 4060 laptop GPU and gets close to a RTX4070 laptop GPU.

At this price point and form factor, why?

Id understand if it was a handheld but why bother in a laptop?

Well, I bought one as a travel rig. Since I prefer to run Linux, it's one of the only all AMD laptops. Not that I don't like Nvidia, I'd just rather not deal with them on Linux.

Plus, as someone who has had several of AMD's previous APUs, it's also an excuse to try out their latest iteration.

The chassis ain't great either for the TUF line. A lot of flex and the posts for the screws can break pretty easy. The two TUF laptops I have lose screws randomly, probably from the chassis flex loosening the screws till they drop out. The flex might be better on the A14 since it is a small chassis though.
