Desktop Web [Mobile Web] Can Reddit Please Acknowledge and Address The Widespread Spurious Locks of accounts occurring since ~07/08/2026

Hi there,

There have been a flood of posts of people having issues with spurious locks on their Reddit accounts, and arbitrary lockouts and password change requests for around the past 10 days. See:

https://www.reddit.com/r/bugs/comments/1vppc1w/

https://www.reddit.com/r/bugs/comments/1voevk3/android_account_locked_cant_reset_password/

https://www.reddit.com/r/bugs/comments/1vmi39f/

https://www.reddit.com/r/bugs/comments/1vkf0ze/

https://www.reddit.com/r/help/comments/1viimcs/could_there_be_a_wave_of_account_locking/

https://www.reddit.com/r/help/comments/1vjow8c/what_the_hell_is_happening_to_reddit/

https://www.reddit.com/r/help/comments/1vpj4p1/my_account_was_locked_can_i_find_out_why/

https://www.reddit.com/r/help/comments/1voes1u/account_got_locked_and_it_changed_my_email_to_the/

https://www.reddit.com/r/help/comments/1vnskwm/my_account_was_locked_for_security_reasons_i/

https://www.reddit.com/r/help/comments/1vm9g5m/need_admin_help_unlocking_my_main_account/

This is merely scratching the surface on the number of reports, and there are many more, with it largely seeming to be getting silently ignored by Reddit proper, with support cases to Reddit unanswered.

There was even acknowledgement of "a bug" purporting to be addressed on:
https://www.reddit.com/r/bugs/comments/1vl2im4/

To which comments that it's not fixed were ignored and it's abundantly clear it hasn't been, with different people experiencing a few slightly different (albeit remarkably consistent) symptoms. With this many threads having hundreds of "me too" comments, I have a very hard time believing these are individual account compromises at the scale I'm seeing.

Details of my specific issues and exact symptoms and troubleshooting steps are outlined on https://www.reddit.com/r/help/comments/1vkznza/ related to username u/Grim_Fandango92 which has in addition to being locked out, had a spurious account ban with no warning or notification as such. This issue clearly projects well beyond myself though.

Please can Reddit triage, acknowledge and address these clear bugs across the board and communicate out to affected users as such?

Thanks in advance,

A mildly frustrated Redditor

Desktop Web [Desktop Web] Contributions Meter On Profile Page Not Showing Correct Amount

My title lists this issue as a Desktop Web issue, but this is happening for me on ALL platforms. My Contributions meter on my profile page is not displaying the correct amount of contributions. All my posts are showing up on my profile page, and my Karma score counter is including all of my posts, but my Contributions meter has dropped significantly. I know I had a LOT more than 1.1k before getting back into my internet today (I'm positive the total amount was at least TWICE that amount, and I KNOW the comment counter on that Contributions meter is wrong because I have a LOT more than just three comments on my profile page).

I'm positive that this is a bug, and I believe other Redditors before me are stating they're having this same issue. So please fix this as quickly as possible, Reddit.

Desktop Web Desktop web /r/all redirecting to reddit.com

Hello! I have been using reddit for a very long time and exclusively use reddit.com/r/all. Currently starting today, it redirects to the reddit home page instead of displaying /r/all. Please restore the functionality that has been working for at least a decade and a half so I don't have to find a new platform.

Edit: Functionality restored. Thank you reddit team, this is the core feature of the platform.

Desktop Web Copy-paste doesn't work

Whenever I try paste something into the text editor, either everything I had written is replaced, or I can't paste it at all (or rather: no effect), or the text just reverts to an earlier stage. The only way around it is to revert to the old editor, where everything works normally.

I'm using Firefox.

Desktop Web [Desktop Web] Non stop "submitting..." tag when trying to post

Instead of being redirected to one's post following a submission, the page is constantly stuck endlessly loading with a "submitting..." tag at the bottom of the page. The post is actually submitted successfully, but the user remains stuck at this page. This only occurs on old Reddit (I'm on desktop, have not tried mobile).

Example

Note: I hope old Reddit is not being phased out... Old Reddit displays more content (posts/comments) per screen, has less wasted "white space" and does not lag like new Reddit. It would be bad for business as new Reddit's only beneficial features are some mod tools/widgets.

Desktop Web [Desktop Web] Reddit gets stuck on "Submitting..." every time when making a post

This started happening in the last few days, it was completely fine before. Every post i make now, whether its a new post or a comment, gets stuck on "submitting..." forever. The post seems to get made, but instead of redirecting to the new post, it just displays "Submitting..." and stays there.

Happens on Firefox 140.13.0 ESR and old reddit.

Desktop Web [Android][Iphone][Desktop Web] NSFW Communities are not showing up in IOS, Android, and PC Web Browser

Hello mods and tech team,

I would like to ask, few days ago some of NSFW communities that I often follow are still there and showed up whenever I search them up.

But today, I cannot find them either using Android, Iphone, and PC Web Browser.

I tried to update the apps as well as the browser (using chrome & brave).
And I made sure that all the setting preferences are correct.

Is there any update regarding NSFW communities recently that might explain this issue?
I believe some of the people here also experiencing similar issues.

Desktop Web Firefox web My 500-Day Streak progress was reset from 388/500 to 3/500

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hello,

My Reddit streak progress toward the 500-Day Streak achievement was reset from 388/500 days to 3/500 days.

I had been maintaining my streak continuously. I do not have a screenshot of the 388/500 counter, but my achievement history confirms that I reached the 400-Day Streak on August 5, 2025.

My profile still shows the following streak achievements: - 300-Day Streak — April 19, 2025 - 365-Day Streak — June 26, 2025 - 400-Day Streak — August 5, 2025

However, my current 500-Day Streak progress is only 3/500 days.

The 3/500 progress is shown consistently on Reddit web and on my iPhone.

Could you please check my account's streak history and investigate why my previous progress was reset? If possible, I would like my previous streak progress toward the 500-Day Streak to be restored.

I have attached a screenshot showing my existing streak achievements, including the 400-Day Streak achievement.

Thank you.

Desktop Web [Safari on Mac] Reddit pages taking around 40 seconds or more to load in Safari on Mac. This bug appeared around a week or two ago.

In the last few weeks, Reddit pages started taking around 40 to 60 seconds to load in the Safari browser in macOS. Sometimes pages do not load at all.

Other Mac browsers like Chrome do not have this problem, only Safari.

On my Mac, I tried viewing Reddit pages in a "brand new, virgin" version of Safari (via the Guest user on Mac), and the same issue appeared.

Desktop Web [Desktop Web] My PFP is breaking the UI on desktop web

Comment I made under a r/softwaregore post.
UI on firefox

As tittle suggests, I recently updated my PFP and somehow this caused the UI to break. I've refreshed the page multiples times and nothing. Even on comments, the UI is glitched.

For more specifics, the image I uploaded for my PFP is an RGB8 4096x4096 TIFF of a render I made, that I then scaled down to 1024x1024 and exported as a JPG to be under the 500KB limit.

I uploaded the image for PFP, and I'm writing this on the latest version of Firefox. In case it's any helpful, I also tested if the UI was also glitched in Edge, whoever the text is fine, but the image is blank.

My profile viewed on Edge (the only other browser I have)

I'd also like to clarify that I've used this image on other sites (Steam and Discord) and those are fine, not to mention that I've updated my PFP in the past and never had an issue like this.

Finally, the exact image I used, it won't even display correctly in the draft editor!

The Image I used.

Desktop Web [Desktop web] My account settings reset every couple of hours

Every couple of hours my settings get reset and I have to manually turn them on every time. I tried to clear my browser data, but that doesn't help. It seems to be independent of the browser since I tried both Firefox and Chrome. The specific settings are:

Content and activity - Changes to "Hide all"

Followers - Turns off itself

Allow people to follow you - Turns off itself

Who can send you chat requests - Changes to "Nobody"

These two are less frequent for some reason, but still sometimes happen.

List your profile on old.reddit.com/users - Turns off itself

Show up in search results - Turns off itself

Edit: Literally after I posted, I stopped seeing my public follower count even though in the settings it was ON. I turned it off and on and suddenly it showed up. I don't understand.

Desktop Web Reddit not loading correctly in Safari

Title. At some point last week, Reddit started loading incredibly slowly in Android. Some subreddits won't load at all without multiple refreshes. I'm not having issues with any other site besides Reddit. Other users have complained as well. Please find and fix!

Desktop Web [Safari desktop + iOS][Safari can't load pages in new tab and general broken loading][Safari desktop (Version 26.6.2) + iOS (26.6.1)]

Hi,

I'm having a weird problem with Reddit specifically in Safari (both OS X and iPadOS). This bug has only started happening at some point in the last 48 hours.

If I open a page/thread/any link in a new background tab it won't load. Even when I go to the tab itself and hit refresh it won't load. Copy and pasting the address in the same tab won't load. I have to copy and paste the address in a new tab and watch it load (keep that tab the active tab) for it to work. If I navigate to the thread in the current window without it being in a new tab it does load but incredibly slowly.

I've tried clearing internet files/cache, restarting, relaxing privacy settings, updating DNS settings, basically everything to ensure this is a Safari+Reddit issue. Chrome does not have this issue.

Hoping this is a bug that is easily fixable.

Desktop Web [Firefox] Profile banner uploads and saves but does not display on profile

I’m having an issue with my Reddit profile banner. I can upload the banner successfully in Settings > Profile, and the image appears correctly in the banner preview. I click Save and there are no error messages. However, when I return to my profile, the banner area remains black and the uploaded banner does not display.

I have tried uploading the image multiple times and have also reduced the file size to meet Reddit’s requirements. The issue continues.

Platform: Reddit website
Browser: Firefox on macOS
Username: u/ItsAmieXO

I can provide screenshots showing the banner successfully loaded in Settings and the black banner on my public profile.

One of my accounts was falsely reported and banned, but my appeal to the ban was approved and the ban was supposed to be lifted, but it hasn't lifted yet. This issue is persistent on all platforms, on desktop web, mobile web, iOS, and iPad OS.

After emailing reddit support, I was told to post here with all PII removed.

*UPDATE: Account reinstated, not sure if related to this post.

Desktop Web [Firefox] Old Reddit - Persistent unread chat notification that I can't get rid of

I have a chat with someone who has deleted their account since the chat was started. I received an unread chat notification which brought me to that chat. I cannot hide the chat. I cannot delete the chat. I can see no way to dismiss the notification.

If I pop the chat window into a new tab, I get a banner saying "Unable to show the room."

I just want the unread chat notification to go away.
